Can one of you review it in slooow motion and confirm he had 2 feet in bounds? What appeared to be his first foot down never really touched. It sort of wind-milled.
Also was the catch possessed long enough over the plane of the goal to be deemed a catch?

First foot appeared to miss ground
One foot landed then knee out of bounds

Appears bad Call

End zone or not is irrelevant if no two feet down.

It looked to me like his left foot was in when he caught it and his right foot dragged in bounds on the way down.

My question is, was it ever reviewed or why didn’t Payton ask them to review it if they didn’t automatically review

They review every scoring play. Doesn’t mean they always get it right and explain their call though.

Camera angle made it tough to be definitive

I don’t understand why they don’t have a straight on angle to the goal line

Just rewatched on nfl network. You are right, everyone seemed to miss that he didnt get 2 feet down. That first foot never touched. Refs were predictably terrible tonight

The ball was nowhere near the goal line once he got feet down. Insane that was called a td

What's the rule on that? He caught the ball over the goal line but if he did get 2 feet down he was no longer over the goal line.

All the ball has to do is cross. It’s like when Brees leaps and ball goes over but he gets knocked back, it’s still a TD.

ETA: As poster below said I thought I remembered thinking ball never crossed though also

ETA: I was wrong, my bad comparing a run to a catch

It was a BS call, the ball never crossed the plane of the GL.

The fact that during the review, Fox never once showed a replay from different angles, nor did they show the “pylon camera “ angle. They just showed the long sideline camera angle.

It wasn’t a TD...

NFL needed to keep the game interesting..

That is what was confusing to us, the ball never crossed the goaline, he also never had a foot touch int the endzone.

Then on top he didn't have 2 feet touch down in bounds period. Wasn't even a catch much less a touchdown

Even the announcers with decades of football commentating experience, supported by Mike Peiera, an ex NFL official, never could provide any substantive or even insightful explanation of that "scoring" play.

Thus, MORE evidence to add to the already mountainous heap of evidence that we have to support the Thesis that the NFL is full of shite when it claims to be a competitive sporting contest instead of an entertainment exhibition.

How do you figure a run and a catch are the same thing?

Let’s get this straight for the 1000th time. The NFL will always do what they need to do to screw the NO Saints. Fact.

Ball crossing goal isn’t relevant. 4th down. Pass Incomplete.

First foot never touched.

If he had two feet in, doesn’t matter if feet In end zone or not. Ball breaks plain with possession Td. But in this case Not a catch.

Ball over on downs. And Kamara doesn’t get 6th if called right. No TD no onside kick
