A TE should be the pick at 40.

We absolutely need a better threat and more production from the TE position.
Possible that Meyer is there, Musgrave should be.

The saints seem to like our current TE. I think the pick should either be a DE or another DT. That would sure up our D-line. RB/WR/TE in the 3rd makes more sense.

It will be hard for Loomis to pass on Washington and that crazy high ras score of 9.88 if he is available.
If I ran the Saints I would be looking at Washington if he's there or I'd go ahead and reach and draft Charbonnet. Both those dudes are athletic freaks with Elite RAS scores.

Its hard to say that they should take a single position when we need TE, DE, OG, S, and LB.
I honestly think they should trade back into the first half of round 2 and get 2 players cuz we need the help.

Mayer because he is the next Gronk in that he can block but also be a huge weapon in the passing game. It gives us the flexibility to switch Juwan back to playing a more WR role like he did in college.

Washington caught 3 TDs in his entire college career. His production profile is concerning and taking him in the 2nd would be a mistake IMO. He’s Mo Allie Cox, not Antonio Gates.

Washington also had to play alongside the best TE in the country, which may have eaten at his production. If he was the featured TE, I imagine his numbers would have been more impressive.

45 receptions in 3 years at UGA. He was used a ton as a blocker though, and is very good at it.
With Juwan just getting the bag I don’t see any reason to use pick 40 on a TE who isn’t going to catch passes.

I agree TE is not one of our biggest needs. And I like Juwan. I guess I just love Washington's upside. He's definitely raw (particularly at route running), but there aren't that many athletes like him. I could see him developing into more of a blocking TE, but I could also see him becoming a huge threat in the passing game.
