Kikaha is fine as a starter.
Definitely need another guard.

He was doing very well to start the year. The injury slowed him and I wasn't a fan when they tried to drop him in coverage.

Kikaha has the motor. I worry about run support and shedding.
OG is our biggest need by far

People are freaking out, but the Saints are slowly picking some legit players.
Guard is a concern, but they maybe get the guard from Dallas for a pick or hell, perhaps get a guy like Vadal Alexander in the 5th. As a guard he's a very legit player.
Also, Strief may be an option there and then backup RT behind Peat. I think you may see this if Strief proves to have the ability to shift inside. When he was drafted, some scouts thought he had more potential as a guard, so it isn't out of the question.
As for pass rushing and DE, they have some young guys with a ton of potential that were hurt last year. There is potential there, and depending on Brees' extension, it could open up some money to bring in a trade for a legit rusher later on.
It's not over yet.

Peat will play guard
IF we move a tackle to guard it needs to be Strief. He's slowing down and teams take advantage putting a speed rusher over him
Peat is athletic enough to handle the speed rushers but needs to work on his base against power. Which makes him a very poor choice at guard.

This. He's not my ideal starter, but he's better with a hand in the dirt than he is playing upright dropping into coverage. With out inside moves at DT, we will be fine on the line.
Offensive line does worry me though.

Everyone is saying he was the best player left on the board, so you can't say it was a reach. The only real question is whether the trade was worth it. They targeted safety in this draft, so if there was a drop off after Bell and Bell is really good, then I'm ok with it.

I think he took some lumps last year and will be up to it

Kikaha actually wasn't bad vs the run last year. Actually graded out higher vs the run than he did rushing the passer according to PFF. He struggled when he had to drop into coverage and play in space. He won't be doing that this year. Gonna be a 4-3 DE with his hand in the dirt. He's more suited to do that anyways.

It's not as if I'm against Lelito of Kelemete starting, but behind them we have nothing. If one of them get's injured or not up to the task, then we're in a hard spot.

Dropping kikaha in coverage was the single dumbest thing we did last year on defense, and we did A LOT OF STUPID shite on defense last season.
They drafted him to rush the QB and they just decided half way through the season that they didn't want him to anymore.

Not to mention jack shite for a backup center too.
100% zero depth in the middle.
That means Strief or Peat will have to play guard or even center if zod forbid one of those guys go down.

switch peat to G and let's drat another starter at G in the 5th then we are done. Cannot expect anything in the 7th.

Yeah Strief needs to go to Guard and Peat play RT. I have a feeling we will get back into this round or the fourth though.

He just isn't equipped to play guard at this stage, or maybe ever.
He is a pure tackle and forcing him inside will stunt his development and potential ceiling.
