I've been on the Vikings forums--they keep referring to this game and saying that no matter how bad a beatdown they put on the Saints this week it can never be as bad as what happened to them in 2009.

Great memories and times I will certainly never forget, but I am ready to write a new chapter in Saints history.

What happened to them?

There was only one play that was remotely bad and it was Hargrove tackling Favre in the 3rd.

Troy didn't think it was bad at all. The rest of the game was good football.

The pass interference happened on first down in overtime with the pass to Thomas they bitch about. Who knows what happens on 2nd or 3rd down.

They are ridiculous. I had two vikings fans watching the super bowl that year at my bosses house in Colorado and wanted to fight Sonic style.

Greatest game I ever saw in person, until I saw Game 5 of the 2017 World Series in person.

2009 NFC Championship Game means more to me than Super Bowl XLIV did, which makes no sense unless you watched the 2009 NFC Championship Game.

They were all we played better except the multiple turnovers which are critical to a game.

We beat them. They didn’t beat us.

In person, that game was a 4 hour emotional roller coaster. Probably took 5 years off my life. And it was worth it.

Being a Saints fan from the beginning, that was the one game where I had to keep telling myself, "these aren't the old Saints."

Looked like they were gonna prove me wrong near the end of regulation...but the Vikings stepped up and said, "you've finally found a team more cursed that you are. Enjoy the Super Bowl."

this was likely the most exciting saints game i've ever watched, i'd rank it above XLIV as far as nervousness and exciting edge of my seat kind of game.

It sure would be awesome to host an NFC Championship game against our most hated rival. Too bad that 95% of “Saints fans” on this board are rooting against that because they are scared of Atlanta.

Agree 100%. It was a sigh of relief just being in the super bowl. I honestly thought we were going to lose to the colts, so I was just happy to have played in that game. The NFCCG however, i needed that win

They all blame officiating, and not one placed on all the turnovers...

95% of fans don't want to play at home in the NFC Championship game? Come on, man. Maybe a few people would rather play Philly.
