Scary Collins
Or drunk collins as we got to know him as (and it became known that he had a serious drinking problem during and after New Orleans). Come to find out, he had serious problems in Carolina too (where he lead the Panthers to the NFC championship). He was their first franchise QB out of Penn State. He was actually quoted calling a teammate the n word. Later, Collins would lead the Giants to the Superbowl, which they lost to the great Ravens defense.
Ok, fond memory from Kerry Collins was the Arizona game in December 1998. Saints were 6-8 and playing a 7-7 Cardinals team lead by Jake "the Snake" Plummer to take ownership of the 6th playoff spot in the NFC. Well, we lost (and ended up going 6-10), but that was the first time since Bobby Hebert that we had the possibility of a playoff spot that late in the season. I remember the hype around the game for that reason, and I barely had hair on my balls...so, it was a big game to me. I was actually at the River Walk shopping for Christmas gifts with friends, and we were finding any TV to track the score.
Anyway, could you imagine if Kerry Collins played today? With his type of problems, he'd never make it.

No, he was a very decent QB overall, especially when you consider who we had for 14 years after Hebert and until Brees. Probably the best Saints QB behind Aaron Brooks during that tenor

If I remember right, he got arrested in New Orleans for something and they showed him on TV leaving the jail with a couple of whores and was puffing on a cigar.

I remember him pulling a woman out of a burning car on the I-10 after an accident while he was here.
I think it was him.
They Interviewed him and he acted like it was no big deal. Said something like ‘anyone would have done it’ and shrugged it off.

Got to see him play at the Dome vs. Dallas
He threw a bomb to Andre Hastings, I think it was.
if not him then Sean Dawkins?
we actually won that game pretty easy but still finished with a losing record

Kerry was my first qb ever in fantasy football. He was with the raiders at the time!

Yeah, that was the same season. 98-99. Dallas ended up a playoff team too, but we beat the brakes off them. Started the season (3-0) that season...

The Saints started the season 3-0 in 1998.
LSU also started 3-0 that year.
After that, both would finish a combined 4-17. Not a good year for me as a fan.

Good God, man.
I bet you're a real fan though. We lived (started) through some lows, but even Dinardo had some highs.
Saints were trash for over a decade, man. That was really shitty, lol. Tigers for sure had some lows, but I never lived through lows like with the Saints
