Another week, another loss for Spencer Rattler. I find it odd that Saints fans’ support for him increases the more he loses games.

We’re just delusional I guess

Louisiana football experts:

Carr 9-7? Horrible get rid of him

Nuss 5-1? Awful, bench him!

Rattler 1-11? The guy has real spunk, love him!!!!

Carr was overhated by this fanbase

Nuss is garbage. There is no debating that tbh.

Rattler is not that bad. His o line is mid and his best weapon is a WR3 at best.

I'd still pick Mendoza at 1 to replace Rattler with, but technically speaking, Rattler is actually not a top 7-8 issue with this team.

1 more point I'd like to make. Just basing everything off of records in a 53 man team sport or 100 man team sport in college, is retarded. Do better.

Absolutely. It’s crazy watching so many in this fan base doubling down on a losing personnel choice.

You certainly are. The rest of us recognize it takes 21 other players to win games, and we analyze players based on their performance and not on the performance of those surrounding them

Rattler never has and never will do anything to elevate a team to a win. When your QB needs perfection around him to be slightly better than "we didn't lose because of him," that QB needs to be changed.

I watched Brees make Callaway a #1 receiver and Lil'Jordan Humphry into a playable WR.

Brees do this year one as a full time starter?

That's because none of the losses this season are because of him.

Brees was a "2nd" (really, 1st) round pick. Rattler was a 5th round pick by a different staff. They are treated differently, and Brees had to go elsewhere 4 years later anyway.

Started his career 1-11 with worse stats than Rattler and came here as an $100 mil man who was 16 games under .500

If Rattler was a 1st or 2nd rd pick people would be fawning. If Shough was playing and putting up Rattler numbers people would be celebrating.

He wasn't

But he isn't, and he was picked in the 2nd round

That is how this works. You can not like it but a QB picked earlier by the current staff generally gets more leeway to succeed or fail

Yup, I’ll take quality over a shitty loss. This team isn’t good, but they are putting out effort. We are rebuilding and unfortunately, where we are, will take time. So yea, I’m happy about a quality loss. It proves the coaches and players are working hard and we are securing what we hope will be a top 5 pick.

If you’d be happy with a Jets type loss, go ahead.

No, this is how YOU think it works. And not like what? You’re the one with the issue

It is how it works. Its always been how it works

For a guy in the 5th round to hold the job long term over a guy picked earlier he really has to do very very well.

I'm fricking with people a bit because they are very defensive about Rattler. He is getting a bit better game by game.

I just haven't seen enough personally to believe that a change won't be made this season. Nothing would make me happier than the Saints truly finding their future QB.

He’s effectively a rookie and he’s getting better every game, by your own admission. Surely you realize how difficult and rare that is. It’s what every HC strives for with a young QB.

No, it’s really not. The leash has never been shorter on high draft picks. And coaches just don’t insert a high pick over a guy who is producing and getting better, especially one who is the same age and hasn’t even logged 17 starts
