You're playing word games now. If signing one player meant putting your entire team in a stranglehold then yes I guess I'd let that player walk. I would have had no problem with giving Brees that kind of money the year after the superbowl. I just think he has peaked and it's starting to show. That's just my opinion and I hope I'm wrong.

Could have franchised Nicks.

Please report to my thread and give us your SPECIFIC plan for not paying Brees.

If not, shut up and go away.

I'm with you on that.

I've had a black vehicle for the past 5 years, I want no other color now.

iPhone color? It's black

Guess how I drink my coffee? Not black, but close

Not to mention that Ben Grubbs is a damn good offensive lineman.

Yeah. Ben Grubbs isn't the problem. The tackles are.

I've seen teams winning games with quarterbacks that arent Drew Brees and aren't getting paid more money than any other person employed by the NFL.

Perhaps you could give an example of the quarterback you are referring to, then you speculate on having said quarterback on our team, do you truly think the end result would be different? Yes, the salary cap effects could be discussed but really, think of the carnage we would have witnessed if we didn't have Brees, at least we were in the game.

the only possible difference is not being 0-4 so you tell me. so we paid a QB 100 mil for moral victories and being able to say we didn't get beat THAT bad? a loss is a loss

I'm not a GM so I don't have to answer your question. All I've been saying is what we got now aint workin and we paid a QB on the back end of his career more money than has been paid to any player ever. If you think it is then I'm sorry for you.

I don't post in that god forsaken place either.

How good did finding a replacement for Nicks work out?

is this is a joke? we got one of the top guards in the league as his replacement.

Why don't you blame Nicks for wanting the highest contract ever by a guard. We made an offer to him, he declined. We signed a top guard to a much friendlier deal.

Drew Brees' contract isn't hurting the Saints AT ALL right now. We don't feel the impact until 2014 and the cap is going to go WAY UP due to the new TV deal

about Drew Brees video game like stats if anyone questions the fact that he is making 100 mil but cant win a game.

so it was his fault that Graham and Sproles dropped a touchdown and a game sealing 1st down? Gotcha. Brees was solid yesterday, only a fool would argue otherwise

Yes you do. You think we would have been better off without paying Brees.

So what would have been the better plan?

Most wins in the previous 3 years in the league, virtually every major offensive record, and a Super Bowl.

Seems like it worked ok.
