If he doesnt play before the season ends then we know all there is to know about this guy. Generation money has already been made, and all he’s done is watch from the sideline. That’s the extent of his pro career. Money and unrealized potential. He has a chance to at least help his damn team. My guess is that he’ll no show as usual. See you in 2024, Z.

Let’s see.

First season. Comes in fat as frick and hurts his knee. Wasted season.

Second year. Comes in to camp in good shape and has a good season

Third year. Hurts his foot. Gets fat as hell. Misses the entire season. Learns that he has to eat well and take care of his body.

Fourth year. Comes in good shape. Plays well. Pulls hamstring. Misses the second half of the season. Learns that he needs to stretch to maximize his body.

Four years and the guy and his entourage are still learning how to be professionals. What do we see in year five? Mental health issues? The Zion Excuse Bingo Card is almost filled

Don’t forget his disastrous time in the bubble in year 2.

Look, the guy has immense talent. But does he have pride? To me that is the issue.

This is the first hamstring strain in the history of mankind that has taken longer than 3 months to heal. Most tears would have been healed by now. I call bull shite on this one.

He reinjured it mid rehab. It's not one strain. It's been 2

Is it safe to assume that the hamstring has healed and these next two weeks are being used for on court conditioning?

Like in his current state can he bust out a full sprint yet or is that two weeks away?

(Just questions. No answers needed.)

No. The next 2 weeks are the ramp up where they gradually adjust his workload. They don’t know if he’s healed or ready yet, just that it “looks” healed enough in imaging to start ramping up to test it. This is where the setbacks have occurred in the past.

Willie also mentioned that because of the re-injury, they are taking things much more cautious this time around.

Anyway...

Maxi Kleber had such a bad hamstring injury he needed surgery, and he returned in quicker time than Zion.

Ja Morant got locked in a looney bin for his gun fetish and is back

So he’s on a workload restriction of sorts. He can pass, dribble, and shoot but nothing else, as of today.

But by the end of the two weeks he should be running and jumping?

Man I thought the back tattoo stuff was a joke. The tone deafness of that little PR stunt is impressive.

Zion is teetering on being a generational bust, the team’s season is functionally dead, the fan base enthusiasm from earlier is gone - let’s take to social media and tell everyone about his back tattoo.

I’ll run it back one more time with this group for the 2023-2024 season because frankly what choice do we have. But good lord Zion if you don’t show up in the fall in anything other than peak condition . . .

Exactly, just play him. If he tears it so what he'll get surgery and miss the games he'll already miss by being cautious

It's every time around. You can't get more cautious than this staff. I'm almost to the point of arguing that the extreme caution is detrimental to his health.

When zion is gone do you think they'll pat themselves on the back for all the times they were cautious with him or do you think they'll say "hmm maybe we should've played him more while we had him"? I'm gonna go with the latter.

I can’t believe thinking that this team was gonna be good, real good, this year and the next few years. That thought is so gone. Wtf?
