I wish this team had one more good 5 but this team could be scary at full strength with a rim protector like Missi. Him falling to where he did in a weak class looks really questionable. I’m going to predict that this dude is shooting 3’s in a couple of years too.

If Missi keep improving at this rate, he has to start. Herb is a great defender, but he shouldn’t be starting at center.

Yes, I’ve seen him defend Embiid effectively for stretches, but to ask him to defend the big man every night isn’t a good idea, imo. I want Herb floating around and causing havoc, he can’t do that if he’s guarding the 5.

Missi doesn’t have to do much of anything on offense either. Just finish a lob every so often and keep improving on defense and I’m good with that. A Murray/BI/Herb/Zion/Missi rotation should have plenty of offense. A bench unit of Trey, CJ, Hawk, Jose and Theis also seems cool.

These Injuries suck

Another thing that I am really enjoying this season is Hawk stepping into Naji's shoes as the instigator and head trashtalker. He got in Draymond's face the other night and Mathurin's tonight.

You can switch out Herb with Trey if you like in that starting lineup. In my mind it doesn’t really matter though. They’ll both get starter minutes and I do think Herb should play center in stretches

That’s why I’ve still been holding out hope this is a deep team, just injured. If you have CJ, Trey, and Hawk coming off the bench.. that’s ridiculous. I don't know if that starting lineup has enough perimeter shooting, though. Almost think you have to go Trey over Herb.

Maybe people wouldn’t have such horrendous takes if they got called out a bit more frequently.
You still post a lot so that clearly does not work.

I’m breaking my own rule by even acknowledging this guy but cmon, bring back one of my horrendous takes. At least back it up a little.

He’s not in shape.

He still played really well tonight on offense b/c he’s an elite player.

Ngas gotta start giving Draymond his flowers. He continuously stripped Zion and got under him to affect the clean look at the basket. Draymond has a case for the greatest and most versatile defender to every play the game. Give that nga his props.

Z is definitely in BAD shape, similar to the IST last year. During that time period, he still was having great/dominant games while being hella overweight.

Out of shape Zion is still a top 20 player, in shape Zion is a top 5 ???????

First game I missed as I'm on vacation with he family, and it sounds like the best game we've played this season.

Sounds like it's me, I'm the problem!

Yes. You are the problem. Your wife was telling me all about it last night.

My bad bro, that was so unnecessary. I didn't smash. We played 2k.

I think there is a lot of merit to all of these points tbh

I wasn’t so much suggesting Herb at the 5 as I was Trey at the 5, but I also agree with what someone else said about how Trey will probably not move into a starting role immediately considering the nature of his injury, whereas DJM and Herb probably will go straight back to starting

The question for me is if CJ goes back to starting, but we will see

What a great win. Really came through. Strong 4th and a big game for Z and BI

What a weird team… can play like that depleted but play like arse when at 90%.

Hopefully we get more of last night going forward.

It was a fun game and Zion looked great at times. It's something to build on, to fuel his confidence.

I don't believe he's ever been in shape (that's sub 250 for me), but seemed to have a good bounce last night. He's always been able to be super twitchy and sudden. It just pops off the screen. That's why people get so pissed that he isn't better than and more consistent. The talent is just so blatantly obvious.

I don't know. He needs to change his game so much. It was so beautiful watching him shoot that 3. It's there all the time. He's left wide open and has a beautiful stroke. Right conditioning, shape, system and supporting cast, he'd be a 30+ppg player. I just don't think he gets what he needs to be. Others see a Charles Barkley, I see Dominique Wilkens..

Makes me miss Naji. He was always ready to strangle an opponent if needed

I loved watching Hawkins last night. He was tough, and you could tell he was in pain. I think all the stuff with Mathurin started at the FT line, when Mathurin rubbed down the ball before Hawkins shot. They started talking back and forth. Neither would let it go. We need more of that passion and anger.

If the team is getting amped off people doubting them, that's a good thing. It just shows the value of negative feedback and the players needing criticism. Sometimes they need that kick in the arse over a pat on the back..

Hey, is it time yet for people to start bumping the umpteen threads where people insisted that there was no way that BI would change his shot profile?
