They didn’t have a choice. Every injury meant their bench depth got that much thinner.
Boogie committing goaltending on back to back possessions could have directly cost them then title if shots didn’t fall how they did to win that game.

?
decision making usually involves asking for other opinions and forming one. If you think the league’s FO’s didnt notice what happened with Boogie and the Pels/Ad, and Boogie and GSW, think again.
Its not like reports on Boogie were positive. They actually mentioned the worry that Boogie could sway the Pelicans negatively with his attitude the minute we signed him. Despite the fact that everyone applauded the trade.
That being said, no one knew he would blow out his achilles so badly - except sacremento.

And now he has plenty of time to play chess. Boogie is grown, y’all.

He can go Boogie down under with LiMelo and Tyreke.

Knicks should have added him
Not really. That team's gonna be bad and with the NYC media covering them he'd be back to moody Kings Boogie. They should not want that around all their young players.

What is awesome is Boogie bet on himself when he turned down that 40 million. Now, I doubt he makes 40 million cumulative for the rest of his career.

I think it was confirmed that AD was glad he didn't resign or was that BS?
would be funny if he really did say that and Boogie ended up in LA.

Offer him 1 year/$1 million just as a final FU.

I mean yeah he turned down $$, but at least he got a ring right?

Gonna be looking like Jamarcus Russell in the near future

Between his injuries and personality, this guy has killed his value. But, I do think there will be a desperate, cap-tied team (Hornets for example) that may end up offering him their MLE.
Turning down the 2 year/$40 mil looks bad now, but forcing his way out of Sacramento and not securing the supermax there has to hurt the most. Doing a quick search, and I could be off, it looks like that supermax would have been around 5 years/$209 mil. If we assume he averages around $9-10m a season for those 5 years now (he made $5.3 last year, non-Tax MLE is $9.25 this year, increases to $10.6 in 2022), that is a loss of $163m over the course of the 5 years. My numbers could be off, and maybe he regains some value over the next year or so and starts to earn closer to the $20mil/season mark, but either way the difference is enormous.

I hope we sign him to the vet minimum, make him fight with Christian Wood for minutes, and send him down to the G league.

To be fair, he didn't force his way out. To the contrary, he put on a good face but it was reported he was very angry at the Kings for dumping him the way they did.
He seemed pretty content with staying in Sactown, but the team seemed done with his polarizing personality and their owner fell in love with Hield.

Between personality
i think it has about a 0% chance being about "personality". Pels were probably weeks away offering him a max deal pre achilles.

Personality can be disregarded if you have superstar ability.
That ability regresses and people no longer want to put up with your shite.
Remember Allen Iverson’s final days in the league where he couldn’t get the minimum because he couldn’t accept that his superstar days were done?

Demarcus at times often looked to be a stable personality presence on GS bench.

Demarcus is the new Melo...his days as a focal point are over, but he wants to play and be paid like a superstar.

I'm not just referring to his FA with the Pels, I'm talking about his situation currently and him not having any present value.
