I hate that the Lakers and LBJ got what they wanted. Hate it!

I wanted Tatum over any of the Lakers players.

But...KD getting injured and Kyrie signing with ROC took all our leverage. NYK couldn’t go all in on Davis with KD not being able to play next year. Celtics not retaining Kyrie wasn’t going to make them trade Tatum.

Ball is a good, not great, PG. Ingram is good, but clots are a question. I agree the 3 picks and pick swaps are huge for us.

That’s a good haul considering the lack of leverage Griffin had with other teams.

So I’m torn. It’s a good trade for us considering the circumstances, but I hate it!

Well we'd have to know what's being offered for the 4 to know whether or not it's a mistake.

I told you guys Griffin was going to gift wrap AD to the Lakers.

He should be fired immediately

Did I miss the “can’t wait to see the players holding their new jersey’s” post? Because this could rival Gordan’s

No, these guys are leaving Los Angeles to play for a well-run organization, and they are going to be playing with Zion Williamson and Jrue Holiday, not Jarrett Jack and Lance Thomas.

someone's gotta explain this tweet to me like I'm an idiot

If I had to take an informed guess on the draft considerations

We get #4 overall

2021
2022 pick swap
2023
2024 pick swap

Which is haul without getting into the fact Griff likely isn't done.

the question becomes can we turn the #4 pick (via trade or actually with the pick) into a player that meshes well with Jrue & Zion and turns the Pelicans into a playoff team right now while at the same time continuing to set us up for the future

the fact that tatum wasn't even available, AND every team knew AD was going to the lakers next summer anyway, makes this a home run trade. waiting on the pick swap details to make it a grand slam trade

What do we look like with the salary cap now? Can we afford a max contract now that AD is gone?

I'm ok with the trade, and am relieved to move on. Considering the hand they were forced to play, I'm sure the front office got the most value possible. Considering the hires that Griffin has made in the front office so far, the people criticizing him are openly displaying their shortsightedness and lack of intelligence.

I don't see Lonzo playing here, so obviously the fall out from this deal is far from over.

Trading the #4 would be a mistake? Hardly.

There's very little difference between 4-7

If you can move down and acquire assets do it

Read Woj article and the Celtics wouldn’t give up Tatum so the Lakers were the best deal.
