Beal isnt getting traded for a single 1st. The cancer is away from the team and they might go on a run.

Beal isnt getting traded for anything as long as they are winning... The worst case scenario is playing out for us, we need to move on to someone else more than likely

It's in their best interest to rebuild..

Beal winning them games is bad.

Maybe the franchise but probably not the current GM/HC regime. I got excited for a few minutes and still think there's a chance if there's any way Randle/Moore/2 1sts is all it takes, but the standard NBA operating procedure most teams tend to follow is kicking the can down the road, ie dumping Porter for a minimal return to get under the tax and figure out how to "fix" things next year.

I don’t think it helps that they’re winning, but man that John Wall contract looks so bad right now. I don’t know how they get out of it.

Interesting non-Beal trade from Crewz on Twitter:

Okay, after 100 proposed trades, I finally got the deal:

Mavs Get: Otto Porter, J. Randle, D. Howard, Wes Johnson

Wash gets: Wesley Matthews, Solomon Hill and one 2nd from Pels + two 2nds from Mavs (and below tax)

Pels get: Harrison Barnes, Satoransky, M. Kleber

I did a Porter/Barnes swap several weeks ago and the feedback here was pretty negative from Dallas' point of view, but Barnes can walk this summer, and why wouldn't he if they miss the playoffs again. I think Dallas would be very interested in a Barnes/Porter swap.

I will say that that trade seems unrealistic. Dumping Hill and getting Barnes/Satoransky for the price of Randle and a 2nd? Pels win that trade by a mile which probably won't happen. I honestly can't say who deserves more from the Pels though.

I think the trade definitely makes sense for the other two if a Pels first goes to Washington and the seconds from Dallas go to the Pels.

Why would we give up our firsts to get Barnes? What makes you think he’ll resign here? What are you going to pay him? Like Porter, he doesn’t deserve $25m/yr long term.

Yeah, I could see Dallas more willing to take on Hill's deal also..

Wash: Mathews,DSJ, Clark
Dal: Porter, Randle, Hill, Diallo
NOP: Barnes, Sato, Kleber

That would work for all involved, may have to throw a couple 2nds to Dallas for taking Hill

It'd be 1 1st and he basically said instead of Washington getting a Pels 2nd and 2 Dallas 2nds, the Wiz get a Pels 1st and the Pels get the 2 Dallas 2nds.

Randle + 1st = Dumping Hill + 2 Dallas 2nds + Barnes Bird Rights. If Barnes walks you have about $15 million in cap space. If you let some of Moore/Payton/Niko go you can become a max level player in FA. But I would think the most likely outcome is you keep overpaying Barnes and resign Payton with the MLE.

Payton/Satoransky
Jrue/Moore/Frank
Barnes/Miller
Niko/Kleber
AD/Okafor

The trade isnt bad at all. I think DAL would be 100% in. NOP say yes, but explain to me why WAS would agree to that?

If I'm WAS, trading away Porter means I want to dump some salary to avoid the luxury, and stock up on some young players. Imo, sending Randle to WAS and Solo to DAL still works in terms of money. WAS gets a good young player in Randle while getting rid of $7 mil from their cap. DAL still gets Porter & still has flexibility this summer with D Jordan coming off the books. And NOP now may only have to send 2 2nds to Dallas or Diallo for taking Solo off your hands.

DAL gets: Porter, Hill, W Johnson, D. Howard + 2 2nds
NOP gets: Barnes, Sato, & Kleber
WAS gets: W. Matthews & Randle

That makes more sense to me for all parties. But I'm open to have my mind changed

Randle is more valuable to the Mavs than he would be to the Wiz because the Mavs could re-sign him this summer. Wiz wouldn't have any space

But Wes Matthews only has one year left on his deal. Washington could at least use that to resign Randle?

Randle might be more valuable to Dallas but to me, it just seems like that deal you proposed wouldn't bring Washington to the table. Whats your logic?

I guess at this point we are going back-and-forth on semantics but either way, it's a well thought our trade proposal

But Randle doesn’t need to be on the Mavs for them to resign him. Any team with enough cap space can sign him this offseason, like the mavs

Mike, is any of this chatter you are hearing or is this just something you like?

This proposed trade is really close to making sense. Wiz prob need a little more, though.

Just because a team has say 20 million in an expiring deal, that doesnt mean they have 20 million to spend on a new deal for another guy..

No matter what Washington does, they are over the cap next season, they wont have any feasible way to have any cap space to play with unless they can find a sucker to take Wall

Expand the trade a bit to include Decker and/or some other minimums going out and Washington gets under the tax plus gets a 1st to dump Porter. I would have to think that's their top goal right now managing to get a 1st and out of the tax by moving Porter.

Pels have discussed Barnes, they have discussed Porter, they have talked with Atlanta for months, Washington for weeks. They have actually talked to Cleveland quite a bit. From my understanding there seems to be multiple paths, but everything is waiting on Beal. If he could be had, they don't want to give away any assets until they know they can land him (or not). Example - they probably could have got Justin Holiday , but you never know if 2nds help you get a guy who Washington likes who help puts your Beal offer over the top.

After Beal, there is no clear favorite. Barnes and Porter could be theirs but Porter's contract is awful if Pels trade for AD and want to be flexible. Barnes could opt out and only be a rental. They would be more comfortable trading for Barnes if his agent agrees to opt in for the 2nd year.

Baze, Ross, Carroll, Hood and a few others are the third path. Solid guys who they could use this year and maybe move on from in summer if better opportunity arises.

Tons of possibilities. But it all starts with Beal
