Oh goodness
KD is obviously incredible but people have gone back and looked at the double team statistics from those GSW finals series, and Steph was the more double teamed player. Do you not think KD benefitted from that?

but you do understand that it’s equally the prerogative of others to completely disagree with that right?
Sure I just think it's weird to care about anything other than winning as a fan.
Same way I don't give a shite what political views players on my team have, I don't give a shite what kind of human being they are, as long as they aren't doing anything illegal.
Just win.

Did you think Ingram was better than Durant last year? Just trying to understand peoples opinion. I just don’t understand peoples low opinion of KD.
I don't think anyone is questioning KD's talent as a player. They are questioning him as part of their team and the value you get in trading for him.
The Nets want a star and a pick haul. KD is not worth BI, 5 firsts and 4 pick swaps.
I wouldn't bring KD into the fold because he is never happy anywhere he has been. He will just force his way out sooner than later.
I would love for the GM's around the league to not pay the Nets asking price because of the history of KD as a person, not as a player.

Do you care if the cost is BI, 1-2 of our best young guys, and 5 picks?
Nope, I've said in multiple threads that the only way this works is if we keep BI and Zion, so this is probably all moot for me anyway.
But I would not cry if we sent a package of CJ, Dyson, filler, and a bunch of picks to land KD.

KD makes you an instant title contender, and that's all I care about.
Maybe, maybe not.
In sports, more often than not the "sure thing" not only doesnt pan out, it blows up in their face.
People just see adding durant as instant success. I just believe there is a fairly good chance it would blow up in their face. Many fans just dont want to take that chance. Maybe for a younger Durant its an entirely different discussion

Oh good god.
At the very least, adding a healthy* KD makes you better than 9th in the West.

Yeah I like how people are saying KD might not make us one of the best teams in the league but Adding Zion back from injury would.
Posted on 7/3/22 at 12:46 pm to Broski
The team as currently constructed is better than 9th.
You sound like those people that thought Westbrook to LA was an instant title contender. Yes, its laughable now but at the time everyone was on their dick.

Yes, Westbrook and Durant are the same player.
Do you have downs?
Posted on 7/3/22 at 12:47 pm to LilWezyAna
I mean when Kyrie Irving, JR Smith, and George Hill are your primary guards in those two series, doubling Curry and putting Lebron on KD is basically the only option.

I thought that might be an option, but you can’t unless you find a home for Ben Simmons.

There's "win now" and "consistent winner" camps. How many times has Griff said the word "sustainable" regarding roster building?

We have yet to see the Pels play a full season with CJ, a more developed BI, Herb, the franchise himself Zion Williamson & all the other nice surrounding pieces.

Exactly. This is how others will feel about your post because it lacks looking at the situation in it's proper context especially throwing out there about the Pels finishing 9th in the West last season.

We should worry about winning one first, then figure out how to sustain it after you unlock the secret to the first part.
Again, 2 playoff series wins in 2 decades.

Never said they were. But before this year plenty of people still believed Westbrook to be a viable player.
Yea, not everyone wants a player who quit on a team a year after signing with them.

Everyone knew Westbrook was washed well before he landed in LA.
Durant, again when healthy, is a top 5 player in the NBA and makes whatever team he is on a title contender.
It's not that hard.

I think if the Jazz realize they need to rebuild then the Pels are the best team to help them do that. Not sure they are going to be at that point before KD gets moved though.
Would be an interesting discussion though.
Brooklyn would send KD to Pels, Simmons to Utah
Utah sends Mitchell, Clarkson, Bojan to Nets
Pels send some young players and a bunch of picks to Utah, more picks to Brooklyn.
Pels would be completely depleted draft wise. Might be able to hold on to Herb. I'd do it

I love what CJ injected into the team last year, but having followed his career in Portland, I think some fans are in for a rude awakening if they think he is the alpha that puts us over the top.

About the only people who didn’t think Westbrook was washed were in LA or were a dumbass on ESPN like Perk.
