Simple as that. Put all the pressure on Phoenix. I don’t think they get by the Clippers twice, Sacramento and Minnesota unscathed. I just keep going back to the San Antonio game though. How was Zion able to play arguably the best game of his pro career against the Suns but he couldn’t play 2 days earlier with a finger injury. If we have Zion win that game and we are 6 right now with Phoenix being the one on the ropes. I just feel like that game is going to haunt us.

There were 4 out of 5 games before that at home that we fluffed as well.

And I know this splits opinion but those fricking Jazz games early in the season.
Multiple Double digit blown leads throughout the year.

They all fricking count, whenever they are played in the season..now or November. They are just as valuable

We’d be comfortable now and not having to worry about ‘winning out’ to get into the playoffs.

There were about 9 games we slept walked through that could’ve been wins. If we split those, we’d be in better position. Is what it is, Willie and team can help themselves a lot this week.

Like the league worst 1-7 record in 1 possession games.

Clips are resting Harden and Kawhi is hurt, wouldn’t be surprised if Suns win both games. Also, the Minnesota game is the last game of the year where Minnesota likely cannot improve their playoff position and will be resting their whole team. Suns have it a lot easier than it looks. We’re headed to the play in unfortunately. We blew it on our home stretch where we should have buried those fools but here we are. Nobody to blame but ourselves and can’t rely on anyone to bail us out now.

Edit:
Added sitting harden instead of PG. idk why im getting downvoted, clips down 2 stars helps the suns. Suns other “hard” game is Minny in the last game of season, minny won’t be playing starters that game.

The team had so many opportunities and chances to control their destiny all season long but every single time you think they've turned the corner they stumbled somewhere. Hell, even during the last losing streak all they had to do was split with Orlando and beat the spurs and they couldn't even do that.

So now... Once again, we have to rely on other teams to help the Pelicans out.

Don’t forget Jamorant coming back just to deep dick us twice during his limited run this season. It’s ridiculous looking back

The best data pint to capture this IMO is that we have the 6th best Net Rating in the NBA. That generally constitutes a fringe elite NBA basketball team and outside title contender type team...

And with 4 games to go, we are a play in team.

There are only 6 teams that are at least 2 games ahead of us in the w/l column, in the league, and we were ahead of two of them just 2 weeks ago.
We'd be the 2 seed if we were in the East.

But right now we have the 7th best record, counting tiebreakers, in the West out of 15 teams.

The issue is you did a lot of what ifs and 2 weeks ago to prop up our season then said we'd be the 2 seed in the East.

1. We would not be the 2 seed in the east, we would be the 3.

2. We would be .5 games away from being the 5 seed in the East, so you have to be consistent if doing the what ifs, you gotta show how closely we are to not being a 2 seed if we were in the East.

Or another way to put it, we have the 11th best record in the league, so the equivalent of a 5/6 seed, and we're not terribly far off from that as a 7th seed now(tied for 6th)

Even with the Clippers resting guys and Leonard playing only when he feels like it, I still think the Subs drop at least 1 of their remaining games. But we have to win out. 3-1 won’t get us the 6 seed but I would bet heavily if we finished 4-0 we jump Phoenix. They just have to do it.

We wouldn't even be the 3rd seed in the east since we lose out on the tiebreakers. We have a weak division record as well as a weak conference record. We'd be sitting in 5th right now between the Knicks and Cavs.

Have a 19-15 record against eastern conference teams. Not exactly dominant there.

The optimism that allows some of you to fill threads with the above jargon makes me question whether you have seen this team play at all this season.

I think that to get the 6 seed we will need to win out. We need BI back.

Wolves are tied for the #1 seed and can easily slip to #3. They will have the tiebreaker over both the Nuggets and Thunder regardless of result tomorrow so if they go into Sunday a game up over both they'll likely coast. If they're a game back or tied with either they'll likely play to win. So we should root for Denver over Minnesota so the Wolves are more likely to want to win against the Suns.

They did that to us last year too.

I do not want to play the Jazz early in the season next year. That should be our one small request for the schedule makers. WOuld be real nice to play them right now on their 13 game losing streak instead of at the beginning of the season.

Last year we lost to them 3 times before Christmas, twice in OT and they were 17-14 when they beat us that third time. They were 20-31 after that. We win 2 of those 3 against them and we're the 6 seed instead of sitting at home after losing the play in.

The Jazz were 22-20 in January this year. They've gone 7-30 since then.
That's why when they give the SOS rankings they don't mean much of anythign b/c it doesn't factor in things like that. Playing the Jazz in Dec/Jan is a lot different than playing them today.

Agreed. Even 1 loss and we are in the play in imo.

We have been left with no margin for error whatsoever. Its the West, and that's just how it is.
