We are loaded with young talent.

This year is about developing that young talent and letting the cream rise to the top. We were never, EVER winning anything this year. What got y’all so worked up, a good preseason?

If our record ends up bad enough to get us a top 10 pick then that would be a fantastic outcome for this season. I say bring the loses on, let’s get a top pick and get Gentry out of here.

Rome wasn’t built in a day

I don’t know about you, but I prefer when my team wins usually.

I agree it’s wayyy to early to get upset. But, by the end of January, we better show some serious improvement. I believe we will, but I’ll withhold serious judgment until that time. We need time to figure out rotations and how to play together. We will be gelling in the coming weeks and then we have to sort of figure it all out over again when Zion returns at Xmas

I love to win, but I also know it will take awhile for this team to find its footing and for us to know what we have. And by “awhile, it may be most of the season.1 didn’t go in with
expectations of a playoff run. There will be losses. And head-scratching frustration.
If the Board had its way , we’d be firing staff, trading and waiving every player on at least an annual basis

Because we have the same shite, just different players ... build a lead, lose a lead, force bad shots ... repeat

The alternative is we win a decent amount of games, have a mediocre draft pick, and keep treading water with Gentry a coach who will never elevate this team to championship level

It sucks wasting another year but the way we have to build a team in a small market it can’t be done in a year

Yeah, I get where it is coming from, fans seem to treat basketball like football, where 2 wins to start a season means life is practically over, but the NBA is a marathon not a sprint.

And developing a winning franchise is done through multiple marathons.

Realistically, without Zion, we are playing about how I expected with some players playing better/worse at this point than I anticipated.

I mean there might not be a team with greater turnover than this one, and with no obvious superstar to anchor it all, more than any team we will have to rely on chemistry building and synergy to be successful. And that was always the case. And when the team only had probably a dozen or so hours together over the course of the off season, then right before loses a key cog, that chemistry building is not going to be a final product out the gate. But the bones of a solid team are still there.

Unlike some seasons or teams where I thought some early success hid underlying issues, I think our early losses are clouding the judgement for what I think is hiding an eventual solid team that will be able to compete with anyone night in and night out once chemistry forms.

I think the team shows great potential. One of the main things they need to figure out is how to close games right now it seems like that is where they lose the chemistry and quit trusting each other

I think that will clear up as the rotations clear up.

Same people that are upset are probably the same people who though it would be a good idea to acquire Kevin Love's horrible contract so we could 'win immediately.'

What has been encouraging about the first 2 games? We're chunking up wild shots and happened to hit a couple in Toronto. There's no semblance of cohesion. It's sloppy. Plenty of time to get better but right now it's not good.

As already stated, this team has no obvious superstar to anchor around, on a roster with as high of turnover as any team, that lost a key cog days before the season, all in a new(more complex) defensive scheme.

The idea that they would hit the ground running was a hope that should have been buffered by realistic expectations of likely growing pains.

Despite that though I see a budding superstar in Ingram who has demonstrated so far he has worked on most of his areas of weakness, a roster as deep with upside talent as any in the league, veterans that will either be able to find their footing or have a reputation that will afford the franchise ample opportunity to sell them with net positive value, and a team that has shown flashes of what it can be(mostly in the first quarters where the chemistry maintains itself best) once the chemistry improves and calcifies into an identity
we can carry through entire games and the coaches get comfortable with what rotations/lineups work.

And as the season goes on I expect Bzdelik’s defense to be more comfortable for players and the mix of offensive and defensive chemistry, with insane depth from high upside players, to give us an exciting product.

But honestly, if we are going to get chicken littles for the next 20 games I’d rather those casuals just take a break and come back when the bandwagon is ready to go. This is the NBA, unless you have veteran superstars, things take time.

We are 1/41th of the way through the season and don’t have a win, it’s frustrating.

I’m just upset that Jrue hasn’t stepped up and led this team. Who’s going to be the Alpha dog on this team? Someone needs to take control out there. I thought it would be Jrue because we’ve seen it before but it certainly hasn’t looked that way so far. I’m not worried about the Ws this year.

Being a slightly above average team this year does nothing for us

I want to win games too but I want to win a championship more. The way we do that is to continue to draft high and find our coach of the future. That’s going to take some losses unfortunately

Jrue is honestly the person I am most concerned with. But I have to remind myself he always seems to get off to notoriously slow starts offensively. But I do wonder if the best Jrue is a Jrue with a superstar drawing attention away from him so his deficiencies can be covered up or offset by having less focus on him. And that even after finding his groove may struggle greater than anticipated all season unless Ingram continues
his allstar growth and Zion can carry his preseason performance over.

At the same time I think if he does underperform he is a really enticing trade asset at the deadline. I know it’s sacrosanct but I suspect his reputation will hold and he could be the most intriguing piece for a near contender to give up quite a lot to bring in in the hopes it pushes them over the edge.

We’re upset because this new roster even with all their issues played well enough to win. Unfortunately our #1 option can’t close games and we continually have games slip away when he becomes the lead guard at the end of games.

It’s one thing to ask for patience with the new guys but it’s another if you’re asking for patience from a guy who has been in the system for a couple of years and has assumed the role of the guy.

The missed opportunities can’t happen with Jrue.

Takes time for young new teams in NBA to close games. Even Lebrons Heat team took time. That will come but Im excited to see the progress BI is making in his game. He needs to be that second star for this team in the future and it looks like he can be.

The new pieces have done their parts more or less, it's been a combination of Jrue and Gentry under performing that is the difference between 0-2 and 2-0. That is why people are upset.

I think most people accept this as Jrue being Jrue and don't see Jrue being Jrue as a long term problem. But Alvin being Alvin long term is a problem. Griff promised us that Fearless Alvin was different, so far Fearless Alvin looks worse than Scared Alvin.
