Hes comparing a draft prospect to a draft prospect. If anything because Kessler was a sophomore is why he was taken in the 20s. Lively might be taken high based on potential which with bigs especially is always scary especially in the teens where most dont hit. I agree with Macintosh just better wing guys who cab shoot to take than a project potential big.

You think if Dick is that talented, he'd be sucked up by someone before 14.

Dick's shooting reminds me of Tyler Herro, who dropped to 13. Ony Dick has better defense, so, in theory he should go well before 14, but it's not implausible for him to still be sitting there.

Ok Bronc. Stats is only one part of the equation.

Leonard Miller. Rim Runner, good rebounder, Shot blocker that can switch, and played with Scoot the last two years

You're comparing a freshman to a sophomore though.
I guess. I think lively compared himself well in his draft interviews when he said he’s like a Willy Cauley stein.

Lively is not close to the same class as JJJ as a prospect. And picking out certain college stats of players and ignoring everything else they did(JJJ- amazing 3 pt shooter) is not a good comparison tactic.

Jax has no IQ but actually is a solid shot blocker. But his IQ was no different than Lively coming out honestly. To me they’re both projects.

35 FTS- and your shooting percentage sucks- kind of works both ways- he could be equally bad as good- just a gamble.

Playing great defense as a big on college to me is the hardest thing to translate over to NBA. I just thinks its a huge gamble with so many other solid wing options sitting there.

I want Lively at 14 but I can see him going to Dallas. I don’t mind gambling at 14. Naz Reid from FA would be ideal though

I hear Griffin is potentially wanting to move up. So it be interesting who we will draft depending on the pick

Not caught up on the prospects so I’m not gonna act like it. I just want a good shooter off the bench that can play decent defense to be playable. Whoever it is you guys tell me (if we don’t trade up for Scoot)?

Still think the path to playing time for a shooter is in a combo guard who can play with CJ or Herb or any other wing, or a 4/5 who can shoot and rebound.

Love Jose but he's going to get hunted down in the playoffs due to his size. We've seen it all playoffs. Smaller guards are getting abused even if they are decent defenders.

Well will that Dick be there at 14 lol? Or how can we get that Dick lol?

If that Dick ain’t there, can we get someone else later that will fit that role as a bench shooter?

Maybe. Or if we really want him we may have to pay extra for that DICK lol

If hes gone. I personally would trade down and get the Podziemski kid out of santa clara. I like sensabaugh out of ohio state but only if we trade down. He doesn’t really play defense and wouldn’t be shocked if he fell to the sscond round.

Lively is close to JJJ as a defensive prospect. Not sure why you think it is improper to compare those aspects of their games as prospects. They were both the most impactful defenders in college basketball for their respective one and done seasons.

I understand JJJ was a much more advanced offensive prospect, hence why he got selected top 5 and we are discussing Lively at 14. If Lively had a proven offensive game, he wouldn't have a chance of being available to us.

Yes Lively is a gamble offensively, but you are not going to get a DPOY level athlete in the bargain bin of free agency. And we don't need his offense to be JJJ level, we just need him to be competent which his stroke suggests he can be.

If our core is going to be BI/Zion/Trey going forward, then a defensive paint presence that can be a league average corner 3 shooter is necessary to max our potential. It doesn't matter what solid wing option you tack on because those 3 will start/finish.

I am so against hawkins. Dude sucks at everything but shooting. I don't care how good of a shooter he is.

Depending what goes on with Scoot, I could see them trading down too. What does the board think of #21 and #22 of nets for #14 if certain guys aren’t there? Its a pretty deep draft.

I'd do that. Draft max lewis and nnaji
