What will improve?I’d like to think that, with Zion and Favors, our lane defense will be very stout. As well as defensive rebounding. Plus points in I transition. Bonus: Zion can run.

And on offense should get more open outside shots(I’d also hope that we can hit some of those shots.) that’s not to ignore Zion’s inside scoring, which could be beastly.
I’m on phone so pardon choppy sentences and faulty punctuation.

Just like you said, the floor is going to be so more open when Zion rolls to the goal. All the attention will be on him and you will see more easy buckets for Jrue and Ball.

They will be tough to stop offensively once Zion comes back. Defensively, it will still take a while because Zion will have to get back in playing shape and still is not use to the new defensive scheme.

Take what Williams is doing and times it by 10x. However, take away the 3pt shooting.

Favors and Zion could average 30 rebounds together a night

1) Jrue
2) BI
3) Williams
4) Zion
5) Favors

I wanna see this lineup once and see Williams and Zion out hustle everyone

right now, we play on the perimeter on offense. the lack of penetration really hurts us and that's why driving into the lane is so important right now. (see Shamit after every game tweeting about how many drives each player has)

Zion will give us a presence on the inside that teams will have to be aware of and give us more open shots on the perimeter. not to mention having Zion will also allow us to score on the inside too

on defense, his athleticism will help on switches but I still worry about Zion getting caught being too aggressive and over-pursuing. which they causes mayhem bc the rest of the defense must rotate to compensate

we will be a better rebounding team as well

Any chance he doesn’t come back this season? It just seems like this is one of those things that’ll take forever

If that actually happens the pelicans organization needs to apologize to all the season ticket holders, or just fire Gentry!!!

Sadly thou if Zion doesn't return this just means we will have Gentry for one m ore year

Curious to see how Ingrams ISO ball is going to play. He's going to take a PPG hit.

Advanced stats

Naw and Kenrich Williams only 2 players with a positive "+/-"

This probably means more for Williams, but still an interesting stat

I replied to Preston Ellis on twitter about a similar stat. Im fine with analytics, but any number that says NAW has been a + is just straight up wrong. Basic stats tell you he has been horrible, %.265 from the field. Then you add the eye test, he is taking bad shots, not having any success at the rim, much less than from deep. He has been horrible.

Jrue was even better than the stats showed last night, he controlled PG at winning time. I expect to be .500 team trending up between now and when Zion returns. When he gets back defense will pick up. Jrue BI and Zo will be able to be more aggressive on the perimeter with Favors, Zion behind them. Hayes improvement would be icing on the cake, he has so much potential as a rim protector.

I don't agree at all. The offense just flows so well through him. He pushes the pace, and dribble penetration is so easy for him. He drives in and kicks it out, and a couple of quick passes later and someone has an open shot for 3. Or he drives and goes for the layup, misses, and Favors or Hayes gets the putback. NAW is 30th in the NBA in assists per minute, and he is also rebounding at a high level for a guard. Like Kenrich, NAW is doing a lot of little things well, and those things show up in the +/-.

Per minute and per 36 stats are extremely misleading. Mind posting that whole list?

The pace is fast for the majority of the game regardless of who's in, it's not just him pushing the pace. And after last night, it seems like slowing the pace a little is the better option.

Cmon man, I'm not giving somebody props bc they miss layups. I'll give Hayes and Favors credit for the putback but you cant act like it's a good thing he misses layups.

If you double his minutes, which would be around the most you would ever expect for him this year, he'd average 5 assists per game. That's good. He has a decent assist stat line. I have high Hope's for him and I'm not dogging him, but I'm not giving his atrocious shooting and shot selection a pass bc he gets 2.5 assists per game. I'm sorry.

+/- is a flawed stat. Ingram is having the best stretch of his career and he has the lowest +/- of his career and one of if not the lowest on the team.
