In 8 weeks apparently when it has taken 4 years for other bigs to develop anything close to a jump shot

That's the whole fricking point of the 34 games and no real offseason comments. When was he supposed to develop this defensive ability and jump shot?

His first game he was shooting open three's.

Do I expect him to be a 3-point shooter? frick no. But he wasn't afraid to take a jump shot early on... now all of the sudden he is.

Nobody thinks he's where he needs to be, but if you can't look at the situation with a little nuance, then you're just being emotional and crying all over your keyboard about it.

Refusing to acknowledge that the number of games he's played is a big factor in him not having progressed like you would've hoped is just idiotic.

This is such a lame message board trope, you're better than this.

Where did I refuse or refute any of that?

Basically we're both arguing one point and not granting the other's side at all.

You want to be a republican or democrat? I'll let you pick first.

That's the difference in the offense that's being run. He averaged less than 1 attempt from 3 per game last year. He's taking fewer this year but he wasn't just letting them fly last year either.

Stan mentioned quite a bit that he thinks Zion is unstoppable heading to the rim so that's the sets they're running for him. He's not finishing as well as I think he should be on a lot of them, but he's also being fouled a shite ton.

I'd honestly rather see him work on his free throws than 3 pointers at this stage.

AD was like this also with no outside shot, he developed it over time. I trust Zion can do the same because of his work ethic.

Zion/Ingram are the least of our worries on this team.

Edit: Zion on offense helps so much when guys drive in on him because he needs to be double team, just that our guys aren’t making shots outside of the perimeter. They are doing what we are doing on defense. Let everyone shoot 3s and take away the inside paint.

Ok, fair you got me there.

However, I don't think playing 34 games is why he is struggling. I think he could've had 100 games under his belt and he still wouldn't fit in Stan's half court system.

Gentry needed to go, but we needed to bring in someone who still ran an uptempo style to accentuate Zion's strength.

That's a different argument. I'm also not loving the system. I think Stan is just going super slow to help out our defense to be honest.

D’Antoni would’ve been great for us.

Which is a hell of a thing to sacrifice considering that we've given up 110+ points in 8 straight games now.

Covid bubble season with a short turnaround

SVG hired 10/21
Bledsoe, Adams acquired 11/16
Kira Lewis drafted 11/18

These guys haven’t played a full season of games yet
Zion 20 y/o, 33 career games
Hayes 20 y/o, 74 career games
NAW 22 y/o, 55 career games

JJ, Hart, Lonzo and Melli are shooting 28% on 54% of the team’s 3 point attempts

Your young superstar in Ingram is trying to navigate this shitshow.

This is exactly what this current team should be doing right now

OKC, HOU, NY, CLE, CHA, IND all have new coaches and they’re all outperforming their expectations.

I've been waiting for someone to say it cause i didn't want to be the first

Zion looks lazy on defense sometimes

He hasn't progressed like i thought he would. He will be fine cause he's zion but during the off season he needs to work on a few things

None of those teams are over .500 besides the pacers, and they returned a playoff squad from a year ago

Mark Daigneault came up through the thunder Org, there is continuity there.

Houston is (was?) a veteran team with talent , they’ve under performed if anything

Knicks are an EC version of us

Hat tip to the Cavs, they are playing good ball for
perceived bad team

Hornets don’t have a new coach

And again, Pacers returned a bunch of good, “young vets” from a playoff team a year ago

Hart, Ball, Reddick are on the final year of their deals. Bledsoe is going to be traded. This team can look real different in a hurry.

If you went in to this thinking it was the final spin of the Rubix cube then you yourself up for disappointment

This offseason? Unless the move is for Bradley Beal, there's no other guy that is worth unloading the war chest. The purpose behind gathering all those assets is to go get the next disgruntled star. I just hope Griffin isnt like Ainge and actually goes and gets a guy. Btw, that guy is indeed Bradley Beal if and when the Wizards decide to trade him.

By next trade deadline. We need to see a cohesive roster with a plan and development by next years trade deadline.

If we don’t then it’s time to move on.
