So we all have our dream scenarios. Mine is winning the second pick in the lottery and drafting Simmons. And then trading up for Korkmaz.

But I want to hear your plan B's and C's assuming Gentry and Derps is still here. I just like hearing what other people have a vision of for this team going forward into next year

For me that's
B:
Draft Heild at 6
Trade Tyreke for a mid first and take Prince
Sign Dudley and Extend Jrue

C:
Draft Luwawu at 7-8
Trade both seconds for mid first for Valentine
Sign Crabbe and Extend Jrue

What do y'all got?

All 3 of those sound like serious long shots. You should have a more realistic plan B

I'll be playing a metric shite ton of golf, working my arse off, and finally getting out of the Marines.
As to the Pelican's
Get healthy, resign some pieces
Draft Hield/ shooter or SF
Get ready for next year

I could see the Clippers having interest. They are in cap hell if they don't blow it up, 1st rounders come with guaranteed money. I don't think they'd want 2 2nds this season, but if we give them our best one this year and the Philly 2nd next year, that's a decent value if the goal is being able to take a flyer on cheap talent without committing cap space to a guy that may not ever play for you. They traded away a 2019 1st for Jeff Green, Doc may value 1sts less than Demps if they try and keep this core together.

I really want to do something where we pay Batum and Draft Hield and maybe sign a cheap PF as well with some space. Would have to dump Tyreke tho which I am not against for a decent value or for a PF or something.

Holiday/Frazier/Douglas
Hield/Desean-Jones
Batum/Qpon
Davis/Cunningham
Asik/Ajinca

Something like this

I'm hoping that Loomis uses this pill on Dell. And gets a new GM.

I don't know what Plan A is, and i don't know what kind of cap space we will have.
That being said, i dont' want to see Asik on this team next year. I don't want any center on this team making over $5 million dollars a year unless he's an allstar. I don't want to see Ryno on this team next year if he's making over $13 million a year.
I don't mind keeping Reke, but i'd like to get a draft pick for him and try to get Denzel Valentine if possible.
I don't want to see EG on this team next year, unless he's making under $5 million a year at best, and he shouldn't start.
I would like to have at least 5 players worth a shite at the 2 and 3 position, with 3 of them being young guys we are trying to mold into taking the number 2/3 spot on this team behind AD and Jrue.

Here's an article from TBW detailing multiple scenarios. LINK There are a ton of variables at play like AD making All NBA team or not (about $4.3 million in cap space). You can create cap space pretty easily if you have someone to target, but I think finding someone worth cap space isn't too likely the way the season has turned out.

Not happening. Reggie Jackson got OKC 2nds and a few bench players. Tyreke probably won't fetch more than that. Unless we need his cap space we'll probably be keeping him. And the injury situation might finally give us a look at him in the 6th man role he was signed for originally.

No one has any idea what will happen this summer. Could be a ton of trades, could be quiet. The FA class sucks though.

Regardless of the pick, the plan needs to be let Gordon/Anderson walk (unless they are willing to take healthy discounts), and use the cap space to sign more NBA rotation quality guys. With Holiday/Davis and Evans, they just need more functional pieces to help out. Draft BPA (non PF edition) at whatever spot and go from there.

I doubt Batum comes here and I don't think it's wise to spend all the cap space maxing him (or Barnes) out. That team still would not be going much of anywhere. Guys I'd look at who would be "cheap" (thinking under 10 figures annually):

Courtney Lee (solid starting caliber NBA 2 who's played big games but never stuck anywhere)
Evan Turner (6th man/25MPG off the bench do a bit of everything guy)
Jared Dudley (wing/small ball depth and vet familiar with Gentry)
Mirza Teletovic (Anderson replacement at an anticipated much cheaper deal)
Terrence Jones (RFA, but coming off a horrible year. Maybe get a big discount on a guy who has flashed ability)
A backup big with some athleticism/rebounding ability

Nothing too exciting, but I don't see many exciting moves for the Pels. If they honestly believe in Davis/Holiday, then they have to work to find NBA level pieces that fit around them, while holding onto draft picks to replenish the roster. I doubt they blow it all up, so this is the best way to move back into the playoff discussion and also have some pieces that can grow with the core.

Reke isn't a bench player and we could give the 2nd's we have away too.
I actually like Tyreke, but he's a PG in the NBA, and that's where he is at his best, and i'd rather Jrue than Reke.

Denver has 3 picks between 15-20. Gotta be a way to get one of those.

Right now they only have 1. To get 3 the Rockets and Blazers need to make the playoffs and the Grizzlies need to miss the playoffs but not get a top 5 pick. All of those things happening are possible, but having 2 picks in that range is probably the most likely outcome. I don't think they'd cash one of those in for Tyreke if they did have 3. If he performs up as well as you could expect, he displaces and takes minutes away from the guy you drafted with the 7th pick last year.

I like Mahini. He could be a good 20 min Center next to AD that's not a sieve on offense. We would just have to find a way to move Ajinca or preferably Asik. That might require sacrificing the Philly second in 2017 which is gonna be a good pick to have if we can just stomach another year of asik then waive him when it won't really hurt the cap.

Last year Washington was able to trade 2 seconds and 19 for the 15th pick. I think we could realistically trade Tyreke and the two seconds for a Boston or Denver or Toronto Pick. They have a lot and can use the seconds to stash Euros instead of being forced to used the gauranteed money with the first. We use that pick BPA hoping that Prince or Valentine is still on the board.

While i would like to get in the draft around 15-20, i'd much rather we get the most cap space possible for next year, which is why i'd like to get rid of Tyreke if possible.

The scenario in the link you attached where we get rid of reke and Ajinca and have 35 million in cap space, somehow get Barnes and Bazemore signed and have a lineup of
Jrue/Frazier
Bazemore/Hield or whoever/BDJ
Barnes/QPon
AD/Dante
Asik
That looks like a good start, but that is wishful thinking.

Whatever they do they need to approach it with a 3 year time horizon. With the current state of the West it won't take much to get back to the playoffs. If you want to attract FAs worth your cap space you have to get back to up and coming playoff team.

I agree.

If there's a way to get 2 out of Barnes/Batum/Bazemore/DeRozen, that would be awesome, but it's highly unlikely, and i woudln't want to give the max to any of them.
