I keep seeing people talk about packaging him in a trade, but he's the only pure shooter that we have. He was killing it before he got hurt last year. And spacing and shooting is one of our big holes at the moment. So why does it seem that so many people want to get rid of him?

Keep him, use him as scoring off the bench.

If he helps you improve your roster then you move him.

Personally, I wouldn’t move him unless and until we’ve replaced his 3P shooting ability (or do so in the trade).

Can’t trade our best shooter unless we can replace his production and perhaps more importantly, the floor spacing he offers.

He’s a good bench player.

He's best at the 2 but we already have Jrue, Hart and Frank (should be a 2) there.

No ones wanting to give him away

Only if it gets you a Myles turner

He's a competent veteran that's fairly paid that brings value with his shooting

They couldn’t trade him last year so he’s a filler in a trade at best.

Moore's a big 2 and so is Hart. I'd see them coming in for Ball and Ingram and leaving Jrue on the floor to run the point.

It would be better to get something for him now than let him walk in free agency next year. I see him as quality filler in a trade for hopefully a starting Center.

I could stomach this.

Watching 43% from deep walk out the door would be tough to swallow, but if it got us a rim protector - preferably one who can shoot, I’d be fine with it.

I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: the disrespect Etwaun gets on this board is mind blowing.

Everybody says we need verteran leaders and 3pt shooters. That is exactly what Etwaun is.

His last 4 seasons shooting:

48%...45% from 3
46%...37%
51%...43%
48%...43%

This board would kill for a FA with those numbers.

Random fun useless fact - Etwaun had 3x as many 30 point games last year as Tatum has had his entire career.

He can provide valuable minutes and shooting off the bench.

The problem with Moore is he doesn't shoot a high enough volume from 3 for his % to affect how teams play him. He only takes the shot if he's wide open, and even then he'll often pass those up. He is a good player, don't get me wrong, but he is expendable.

Percentage is overrated. I’d take a guy where the opposing defenses have to keep an eye on vs a guy with high percentage that teams will leave open regularly. Teams don’t really give him defensive attention. I’d take a guy who lower percentage at a higher volume where defenses have to respect.

I have said this a hundred times, but the problem with E’Twaun’s shooting is his limited range (he shoots almost all shots right at the line) and his slow 2 motion shot. He provides no real gravity because of his slow shot: long defenders can close out on him fast enough to make him put the ball on the ground or pass it.
