I’m still thinking Kawhi does a 1+1 with Toronto. Failing that, the Clippers.

He doesn’t strike me as the kind that would want to put up with LeBron and his bullshite.

I dont care who they get....they basically will have 3 main guys and kuzma. They have 0 depth and will be filled with JR Smiths at best.

You have AD who will never play a full season

Lebron who takes games off when he wants.

It really wont matter who they get

I don’t see Kawhi signing there but I know absolutely nothing. Think he’ll do the short term Toronto deal

Don't kid yourself. If they get another star, there will be plenty of veterans taking a small one year deal in order to get a ring.

I agree. Just saying he's the main guy I wouldn't want to see there.

There are teams already in better positions to get a ring this year, like Houston, Utah, Denver, Toronto, possibly Philly and Milwaukee depending on signings.

Chemistry is generally known with these teams. In the case of the Lakers, I have a feeling that a bunch of summer signings start getting traded come January when he contracts are six months old because something isn’t working and they don’t have the cash to fix it.

I just dont see them being in that position. They'll get guys like Korver and Smith. Think they'll have too many holes....at least for this year. Their window is extremly short with Lebron being as old and as many miles as he has.

This is not the pelican fan in me "hating" the lakers. I just dont think they'll be that great. Every team Lebron has started took time to get good.

None of this will matter if they’re healthy come playoff time. Hell, Toronto only went 8 deep for most of the playoffs. Assuming no injuries, Lakers are the clear team to beat.

For all the big 3 is a lock to win a championship talk, I like to remind everyone that the big 3 of the Spurs, Heat, and Warriors were all winning championships in their primes, with complimentary players built into the roster. The Spurs had Big Shot Bob, the Heat had Miller and Allen, and the Warriors have Iguodala.

The Lakers have an often injured AD and an approaching over the hill Lebron, with no depth to speak of. I think they will be good, but it will take them the first half of the season to figure it out. They are literally one 3-4 week injury away from being a 6 seed.

Man if they somehow get a decent roster together after signing a max player This trade will go from genius to dog shite real quick. Hell if everyone stays healthy on the lakers, the pick swaps don't mean jack.

Lol relax bro. With AD forcing his way to the Lakers this was the best deal possible.

Ideally all "max space" does is give the Lakers the ammunition to max out Russell and give him a deal the Nets wouldn't want to stomach.

The genius of the trade is it's post-Lebron. How good the Lakers are this year and next means nothing to the value of our pick. And in 2022 the pick will be valuable even if it's late because 2022 is the double draft. Then we can push the second unprotected all the way back to 2025, when Lebron will be retired and AD will be 31.

It may be galling to see the Lakers win this year, but it really doesn't affect us at all.

an approaching over the hill Lebron

This isnt a legit argument imo. Are we talking 5-6 years from now? Then sure. But we're talking the next 1-3 and Lebron is a freak of nature and age doesnt matter as much for him as it does pretty much every body else on the planet.

He averaged 27, 8 and 8 last year. Thats higher than his career average in all three of the big categories.

His age keeps being brought up but thats not going to matter that much anytime soon imo. There's 5-6 years before he's over the hill. Maybe longer.

I think CP3 is my answer.

Agree that Kawhi would be absolute worst case.

If they're healthy come playoff time??

They literally have Lebron, AD and Kuzma right now, that's it..

They MAY get a max guy (wont be Kawhi, he wont deal with that drama), I'm betting on Butler once Philly tells Houston there's no way they sign and trading him

So their roster will literally be 4 guys, 38 year old Kyle Korver, Don't know the score JR Smith, 1-11 Carmelo, and a bunch of other minimum deal guys

If one of the top 3 guys get hurt, their season is gone
