Can he become a top 25 player in the league ?

Been very impressed with him

He has the talent to win the NBA slam dunk contest and the NBA 3 point contest . I don’t think there is another player in the NBA who can do that .

He’s crashing boards and attacking the basket and even passing better now. Idk what his ceiling is but it’s pretty high with his stroke and size. If he continues to work he could be an all star.

I remember when Robert Horry seemed like a good comp. Now that seems as big of an undersell as when we used Marcus Camby as comp for Anthony Davis.

A better Cliff Robinson?

- One of the OG stretch bigs
- Could hit 3s and attack the basket off the dribble
- Was long and athletic and a decent defender
- Got a 6th man of the year award and made an All Star game and received votes for All NBA and All Defense
- Averaged around 20/6 in his peak years.

Probably not a good comparison to guys in a different era. Trey is going to be a 10+ 3fga guy and will be efficient with the volume.

He may develop other parts of his game but his bread and butter will always be his deep ball.

I think klay Thompson is a good comp. Prime klay was a top 20 -25 player

Trey definitely has to improve finishing through contact, like all-stars do routinely .

While he is an exciting dunker when uncontested, he is soft as butter when bumped at the rim. Sure, he is money at the FT line capitalizing on those fouls, but they should be And1's. Hopefully it comes with time & muscle like it did for BI.

Have you gotten to watch games the last week? Sure it's a small sample size, but he's really been attacking the contact. In the last 4 games he's averaged 7 FT attempts per game. For the season he's averaging 2.3 FTA.

At the moment...I'd guess "ceiling" at around 40-50. But could move up or down by end of next season. Just TOO early...& he has waaay too many aspects of his game that may, or may not...develope.

This. Obviously a much taller version, but his stats this year seem fairly comparable to klay’s second year. He will never be a primary ball handler or even the primary scoring option, but if Trey hits his ceiling he can be one of the best 3 pt shooters in the game, a plus defender and a component part of a championship big 3.

His emergence is really encouraging. An Ingram Trey CJ big 3 should be a playoff team. An Ingram Zion Trey big 3 should be a title contender.

If BI was healthy most of the year and Trey played like this all season, we would be 4 or 5 seed at worst.

Don't forget Willie having his head up his arse for at least half the season.

The team has just had a bunch of problems stack and multiply to make things much worse. But if we can correct some of these problems the fixes should multiply too.

Ironically, I only got to see about 10 mins of the SAC game Tuesday while at work and, of course, one of the plays was a Trey drive to the rim where he got fouled and his arms & the ball went flailing. It wasn't close to being an And1. Yes, also was a small isolated sample, but it was actually what I was thinking of when I wrote the previous post bc that night I was thinking, "C'mon, Trey. you've missed those all year. Finish that shite."

But I'm glad to hear you say he's stepping his rim game up lately. I missed MEM, NYK, and 80% of the SAC game.

I love Trey but what set Klay apart was his elite elite defense. Trey is not even close to that and I dont think he’ll ever get close to that. I think the best way to compare him to Klay is just from an offensive standpoint. Even then I think Klay is a much superior shooter. Trey to me is a more athletic better shooting Kukoc or even a more athletic Peja. Rashad Lewis is another great comparison.

Klay didn't develop his "elite" defense right off the bat. Trey has been good in the back half of the season. He's where he needs to be and will continue to get better.

I disagree he had multiple breakdowns against grizz giving straight line drives. Yes his offense was amazing but he was a major reason grizz had a big lead at half. Klay coming out of college was a very good to elite defender.
