What do you think rotations are going to look like?

PG - Graham (30), Sato (10), Kira (8)
SG - NAW (28), Temple (12), Sato (8)
SF - Ingram (34), Murphy (10), Marshall (4)
PF - Zion (34), Murphy (10), Marshall (4)
C - Jonas (26), Hayes (22)

Not in the rotation: Didi, Wenyen, Jones, Hernangomez

And that's without Hart.

I'm tempted to take away Kira and Naji's minutes and give them to Sato/Murphy.

At least we have some options should injuries strike.

Sato will get more than 10 minutes I would think. I also think Murphy is more 2/3 than 3/4. 11 guys aren't getting consistent minutes IMO. And I don't think we're done at backup 4

I gave Sato 18 minutes. 10 at PG and 8 at SG.

I disagree on Murphy. They've had him guarding PFs in Summer League.

Pretty nice stab at it. I’d take Temple’s 12 minutes and add them to Naji and Hayes. Naji especially deserves more than 8 minutes.

I see where you are trying to add up to 48 mins per position, but I think we have a lot of positionless versatility on this roster, other than Kira, who is strictly a PG and Jonas who is probably strictly a C.

I think that is more out of necessity, with him being the second biggest player on the roster lol. I think some of those minutes would go to Naji at the 4, then maybe a little BI in spurts with Zion at 5 if we attempted a death lineup. Still don't think we're done at backup 4 though.

Maybe something like this? I didn't really worry about nominal positions.

Ingram (34)
Zion (34)
Graham (30)
Jonas (26)
NAW (25)
Murphy (21)
Kira (20)
Hayes (20)
Marshall (15)
Sato (10)
Temple (5)

That's 11 guys. I see it probably going down to more like a 10 man rotation with one of the guards slipping out the rotation. Pretty deep team honestly especially if Hart ends up coming back.

On a side note, we could really use a backup PF.

ETA: Need to rethink this now with the Hart news

NAW/Graham
Murphy/Sato
BI/Hart
Zion/Naji
Jonas/Jaxson

With Herb, Kira, and Temple sprinkled in

Too lazy to do minutes and currently hard to say with so many playable guys

You guys do realize that Hart is coming back, so he needs to be included it in the rotation as well.

There is zero chance that we will be starting games without any of our actual point guards in the lineup.

And Murphy looked good for summer league, but I think we need to pump the brakes a bit on that. Almost no player is a net positive player their first year when they get heavy minutes. I expect Murphy will start the season behind Hart, BI, and Naji if this team is serious about the playoffs.

Question for everybody:

Who are the major spacers in your starting and backup lineups? We've heard a lot about the need for spacing.

I know Murphy can shoot the 3 and I think Graham's numbers are about on par with Lonzo but maybe a bit more consistent.

In short, does everyone feel we solved or at least improved on the spacing issue?

so you want one of our actual perimeter threats that can play solid defense to get minimal minutes over guys like Naji and a 32% 3pt shooter in hart. Got it. Spacing issues for Bi and Zion will still exist then I suppose

Deep in the 4th last year, teams would double Ingram and clog the paint with everyone else.. basically betting that Lonzo won't make a clutch 3. More often than not, they were right..

I dont think that will be the case with Graham.. I also trust NAW slightly more than Bledsoe, and DEFINITELY feel better about Jonas being the failsafe option compared to Adams

Nickeil shot well when he started for us toward the end of the season and shot well from 3 during the Olympic trials for Canada. Don’t expect him to be great from 3 but he’s better than Bledsoe

Graham
NAW
Ingram
Zion
Jonas

Sato
Hart
Naji
Murphy
Hayes

That team really needs a lot out of Graham, NAW, Murphy, Naji and Hayes to be competitive.

To start the season, I think we may see a rotation breakdown as listed below.

I think the biggest battle for minutes is between Murphy and Naji. I think Murphy will be given more minutes to start the season.

I would love to have more minutes for Kira, but I just don't see it to start the season. I dont think he offers enough diversity on the offensive end to make up for defensive deficiencies.

I would prefer for Didi and Jones to get experience in Birmingham.

I don't think there is an on court role for Temple. I think Willie's minutes based on foul trouble, mop-up duty or if Hayes gets in the doghouse. And I dont see a path to minutes for Gabriel.

Starters: NAW, Sato, Ingram, Zion, Jonas

Ingram - 34
Zion - 33
Graham - 28
Jonas - 27
NAW - 27
Hart - 24
Sato - 20
Hayes - 18
Murphy - 14
Marshall - 10
Kira - 5

We are hurting at backup 4. Maybe we play some small ball lineups off the bench with:

Hayes/Hernangomez
Murphy
Marshall
Hart
Sato

Could have really used a scoring sparkplug off the bench.

Trey Murphy can be both a scoring sparkplug and your backup 4. He played good defense on Jonathan Kuminga and Evan Mobley

I don’t know about rotations, but I would like to see:

NAW
Ingram
Murphy
Zion
Jonas

Keep Graham as a super sub off the bench, still getting starter minutes.
