Do you focus on one or two players and see how they are doing in all phases?

Do you alternate who you focus on?

Do you just watch the flow of the game like a regular game?

Something else?

Does anyone obviously stand out?

And

The guys who should be giving you minutes, can they excel at their projected role?

For those guys, are their weak spots any better?

For example:
When Daniels has the ball, can he make the right play or attack the rim? His shooting is still sketch. His defense is still elite

For hawkins, his off ball movement is as advertised as his ability shoot with an inch of space. He looks small, wonder if defensively we can make that work.

Lidell and the forward jackknife we hoped is continuing to show up. Can he stand out at one particular thing though?

I mostly watch how they move and play the game. 3 things stood out to me today.

1) Matkovic had poor awareness and missed balls coming to him multiple times. He also didn’t come away with many rebounds in crowds despite being a little bigger than everyone else. He is trying to pick up a new system and it’s just 1 game, but it does make me doubt his viability here.
2) Nolley looked good on both sides of the ball to me. He was active and effective and is supposed to be a good shooter.
3) Dyson is a beast. If he was as aggressive and confident on offense as he is in defense those missed layups become dunks or and 1s.

I obviously focus on the players who will or might make the roster. I don't care about the others, or about the score.

Matkovic looked like he has no clue how to set a screen or defend. He's completely unready for the NBA.

Liddell looked ... OK.

Hawkins? You can see the lack of size and the defensive deficiencies, but you can also see how smoothly he gets his shot up and his ability to put the ball on the floor.

Dyson looked like he has spent every day so far this off-season lifting and eating instead of playing basketball, and I'm fine with that. He desperately needed the muscle. And it's clear that it hasn't cost him any of his defensive quickness. The offensive game will come with reps.

I'll say one thing I didn't like seeing from Daniels at this stage. The pull up 3 from well behind the line. I don't care for it right now. All I want to see are C&S 3s. Those are actually practical and are shots we need him to take and hit.

But I really love how noticeably bigger he looks. He hopefully he starts going hard to the basket. He needs to yolk those shots at the rim. Don't slow down and let the defender gather. Keep them off balance and force the call.

Dyson added significant muscle in the span of two months. BI's been in the league 7 years, should be as thick & durable as Giannis, but has somehow remained as skinny as Snoop Dogg & as brittle as a champagne flute.

Shooting/scoring from our draft picks and guys who have been on the team in the past.

With so many new guys coming together in such a short time, I don't give a frick about wins or losses or how the team looks as a whole.
