What do we do if Hield, Dunn, and Murray are all picked before our selection?

Pick Bender, Chriss, etc?
Trade out of the draft?
Trade back?

Thoughts?

I don't think there's anyway that all of those guys are taken, but I would trade the pick of so.

Likely the best answer. Probably a better gamble than Valentine.

A team that is more inclined to take a project would probably trade up to grab Bender at that spot. He's great value there but I don't think great value for us since he'll need time to develop and it won't help AD much. I'd like to see us trade down to take Valentine.

I can almost guarantee they trade back and they have already explored those options just in case

Last time we traded back for two firsts we got Craig Brakens and QPon.
Gordon Hayward and Paul George went the two picks before ours, Aldrich.

just sayin

Hield, Dunn, Murray is the order I heard but I imagine that is fluid. And they probably love Bender's skill set, but they can't take him with the clock Benson has them on, sadly

Do you see them trading the pick since benson has them on that crazy timeline plus they know there butts are on the line this year

What's this timeline? People talking out their arse?

The timeline should be we want to be a legit finals contender in 3 years.

If you draft Bender and he's an all-star by year 3, then that is a success. No one we draft this year will make us a playoff team next year.

Year 3 of ADs new contract should be a nice playoff run with young talent showing promise, a good off-season and year 4 we should be a top 5 team in the league.

I doubt this happens with our current management and coach, but that should be the plan.

This is not the whole story. We didn't just trade 11 for 2 picks in the 20s, we traded 11 to dump $6ish million worth of MoPete because Shinn needed money to keep the lights on. Had money not been a motivation, the team reportedly had the most interest in Patrick Patterson.

I was giving the example more to show that trading back even to get two firsts was pretty worthless and it's not something we should be doing.

If we trade the pick, we better get a somewhat proven player and a later first.

Reports are coming out that Valentine has Knee issues on his medical records and will cause him to fall.I want no player on this team with knee problems.

Yes, but absorbing a contract removed part of the value. If MoPete hadn't been involved OKC should have given up more.

As much as I've been wanting a trade back if our guys are off the board, I do have problems coming up with a good one. 9 and 27 or 15 and 19 are the best combination of picks but both leave us relying on the draft falling right to get value equal to 6.

There's definitely a timeline not only from benson but you know gentry and demps know that this is there make or break year so they have to show something to keep there jobs next year

It's about time this info has started circulating more. He was injured way too often in college. He does not seem durable enough for the NBA.
