Johnson was 33, Richardson is 29. Richardson also was a starting caliber player for 4 years. Johnson was a journeyman bench player for his career and only an occasional starter.

You guys continue to shite on Graham like he did nothing but miss shots and contribute nothing else. In no way is Graham the player Josh is, especially on the defensive end, but this constant need to act like Graham didn’t facilitate really well for this team, regardless of the shooting is just idiotic.

He didn't turn the ball over much which was definitely a plus aspect of his time but he also wasn't some great facilitator either, so I disagree with that statement. Ultimately, he was a very poor player overall. Good attitude and seemed to be a good teammate as well but yeah, I am very happy he's gone.

I can’t imagine anyone isn’t happy with the trade. But to take a guy whose assist/turnover ratio is 4.3 to 1 and it’s constantly stated he contributed nothing positive to this team (which is the only reason I’m defending him), is ridiculous.

It’s what this board does. If you aren’t the answer you’re the problem. Jonas is 2nd on the team in Win Shares and people act like he’s Asik.

I gave him props for not turning it over. He had also been playing better in the time leading up to his departure. Still not a good facilitator though as you claimed.

In any event, the guy who brought him in moved him in part to get out from that contract, which is one of his strengths in roster building - no attachment to prior moves.

Don’t think anyone who watched him play here ever said “he’s great at setting up his teammates.”

How was Graham with the Pels?
“Well, he didn’t turn it over much.”

James Johnson was like 36-37 when we got him

I remember everyone liked him, but his age was a big elephant in the room.

J Rich is probably young enough to keep. Probably also a bit early to make that call. It was just nice to see some positive production from Graham’s typical spot off the bench.

Richardson didn't know any of our offensive sets or where he was supposed to be all night. He said he was looking towards the bench at his coaches for directions. He said Jose helped call out the spots he needed to be in. Said Willie put him in the corner for the most part and didn't have him in any actions we'd run. He took the initiative in the 4th and looked for his offense a bit and looked good.

We haven't seen much from his offensive arsenal yet. He's still out there trying to figure it out. I expect him to look a lot better after the break.

Graham seemed like a good dude and a good teammate. But he never could really do the job he was hired to do: be a scorer and 3 point threat off the bench for the second unit. Plus he was just too small to be a defender and he was expensive to get, expensive to pay and pretty expensive to trade. It was just a miss by the front office all the way around. The fact that even in his best years in Charlotte he had trouble cracking 40% from the floor should have been a major red flag for Griff & Co.

I like what I see so far but I've been fooled by small sample sizes before. First impression - upgrade.

Playing four on five would have been an upgrade on Graham. Love Richardson so far obviously.

He's also dead last in Defensive WAR statistic for Centers in the league, so take that with a grain of salt...

I think it would be smart to keep JR around for next year. He's viewed pretty positively around the league and would make good salary matching for a trade

It had to be psychological for him, don't knock down a shot and get pulled

He's a Keeper, Richardson is a well rounded solid player. He's not great at anything, but he's very solid at a lot of things.
