I'm still in awe of that... maybe even more so than giving up Buddy and a mid-first for Boogie.

They also got their 2nd back and turned Nelson and Allen into Okafor and Liggins.

They also released Quinn Cook, but no one is perfect.

I’m suprisingly impressed by Dell. Still not the biggest fan of constantly trading draft picks, but the only one I really regret trading is the 15’ for Asik.

The other deals essentially amount to:
2013 1st, 2014 1st for Jrue, which netted the 76ers Nerlens Noel and Dario Saric (after Elfrid Payton trade).

Buddy Hield (2016 1st, 2017 1st (Zach Collins who was traded to blazers for #15 and #20) for Boogie

Asik, 2018 1st #22 for Niko

All of these are great trades (Holiday trade looks much better now than it did in the first few years). The only complaint might be that you lose out on the opportunity for young cheap talent in exchange for vets who just cashed in a payday. While it would be nice to have some more prospects, It’s just not realistic that we sign a free agent like Jrue or Cousins given the state of the franchise at the time the deals were consummated.

We should've never gave Solo the contract that we gave him.

I wholeheartedly agree, I have a lot of problems with his non MLE and minimum free agency signings, except Moore; but I was strictly looking at his trades. Signing Tyreke didn’t make much sense (too many ball dominant players with already having Gordon and Holiday) especially when you had to give up RoLo, which ultimately put us on a search for another center, leading us to trade for Asik.

Buddy and mid first shall live on in sacto.

Cousins is a free man still recovering from serious injury.
Let him walk. Give Davis a signing bonus.

giving up on aminu was worse than trading for asik.
he is exactly what the team is missing as evidenced by last game struggles in rebounding opponents misses

pels three guard lineups are too short.

the saddest thing is, in dell's tenure, his wings have consistently gotten worse year by year. He devalues the position a little too much

the difference is that we played Aminu as the 3, they play him along side Dame, CJ, Turner, and Nurkic.

if we had Aminu now, he'd rotate as our 3 big with AD and Niko. but that type of lineup wasn't on our radar at the time

If Dell hadn’t of given out those moronic contracts to solo/asik/ajinca we’d pretty much be thinking he’s a god right now.

he would be our small ball PF which is what he has always excelled at.
his fit next to AD is what would make him valuable

que sera

some optimism with the cousins injury is that if we slowly work him back, We could keep the current lineup we have success with and have Boogie run the show with the second unit. Of course, I think Cousins should close out games in the fourth, maybe you can sneak in a Mirotic-Davis-Cousins lineup if the matchup is just right and the proper defensive scheme is in place.

To be fair we were getting increasingly better at integrating AD and Cousins into the same offense as the season went on. Had he finished the season that probably finishes significantly higher.

We also really struggled with no legit third front court player. Theoretically we should be able to rotate so we almost always have two of Niko/Cousins/AD on the floor, and that would be fricking devastating and keep everyone fresher. What Davis did w/o Cousins was amazing but idk if it’s sustainablr over 82 games. The issue is the K, there’s no doubt Cousins will be a valuable addition upon his return, even if it’s only 75% of what he was, but can we figure out a K where he isn’t massively overpaid considering his likely reduced role and abilities? We’ll see.

Aminu couldn't shoot the 3 or even catch the ball when he was with us. He was our best rebound and defender though. It's a bummer to see him put together an offensive game after leaving us.

Even though he has a good 3 pt shot now, Chief still cant dribble to save his life lol. Every time he dribbled it yesterday it looked like he was going to dribble of his foot. Reminded me of the old days
