I’m not sure how to process the fact that the Pelicans got two future starters and their 1st guard off the bench (and team mascot) with 17/35/UD

Good article by Eichenhofer about Jaxson. Said WG and he agreed to focus on shooting, ball handling, getting through perimeter screens (he’s a guard on defense), and footwork in the off-season. Great to have continuity and WG guiding their development. I expect a jump from a lot of players. No trades for me, take our pick, and let the 2022-2023 team compete.

That’s what Shamit said Jaxson should just do. Be a mega wing type player and become a perimeter shooter. Solely just focus on that and defense

I think his perimeter defense is what can be valuable.

Jaxson does have nice shooting form so becoming a 3 pt threat could be a reality IF HE PUTS IN THE WORK.

He'd have to put on 30lbs, that's the size of John Collins.

Best bet is to turn him into a stretch 4 who can still defend 1-4. Don't need or try to force him into a 7ft center

Makes up for the uninspiring draft from the year before with higher picks. Just think if we would’ve stayed put and selected Hunter or Garland. But hindsight and all. Still a very bright future.

the year before was Kira Lewis (equally uninspiring thus far). Goes to show you only have to hit on a few, and not dwell on the ones you dont

That will never happen.

I kind of like this idea. Focus on being an athletic 4 type player.

I have no inside info or any kinda deep knowledge on the subject, but I’ve been assuming Gar Forman joining the Pels as special talent evaluator in Dec 2020 is what made difference in our 2021 draft (Trey and Herb) and targeting Jose with the two way.
