So how is it a worse contract than Asik? Who doesnt even play.

You are wrong dude, its really no where near as egregious as Asik's contract.

12 Million annually is not a large NBA contract. Hill gets a little better, and its spot on. 18th to 24th is a 6 spot difference. If he gets better and is 12th in RPM then we have broke even.

12mil isn't a lot?

Wtf that should be a quality player. We'd kill for an extra 12mil to spend this year.

We signed Hill coming off a strong playoff hoping that is who he'd be and he got worse. We gambled and lost. The guy needs to improve a whole lot more to justify his contract.

Very true, and he is overpaid for sure.

The only reason why I don't bitch about Solo all of the time is that he at least he can play and contribute in some way. He is not a vortex of money like Asik, Ajinca, And QPon, who are all completely worthless and wasting 17 million dollars.

I don't have a problem with the money Solo makes, and i think he'll continue to get better. Would i rather have not given him that contract, absolutely, but he's still an NBA player, and a decent starter given the right lineup around him, especially if he can continue to improve his 3 point shooting.

The problem with what Solo makes is that we have nothing offensively from the 2 and 3 positions. If we had a good SG, then Solo would be a great piece to the team at a very reasonable price tag. But our problem is that we have very little offense in our back court, and now that we have pretty much given all of our cap space for the next 4 years to AD/Cousins/Jrue, it's kind of difficult to get a SG or SF that can score when you don't have any assets or cap space.
You put a guy like Bledsoe on the team, or even Lin, move Jrue to the 2, and i think Solo becomes a better player instantly. he needs to be the 5th offensive guy on the court at all times.

There is nothign comparable from Solo's contract to Asik's. Asik is untradeable, and will be until next offseason at best. while Asik is untradeable, he's also unplayable b/c he's terrible at every facet of the NBA game now.

He is about a 6mil per guy I'd say. 8 mil tops.

If he could shoot 40% from 3 or close and have a more respectable offensive game, sure his contract would be fine. But Dell severely overpaid, and he didn't need to. If this is the only deal he'd take to come here, see ya.

So 14 makes instead of misses which is about 0.5 extra ppg over 80 games and his contract is fine, but without those he is worth $6M? Come on.

He has to be competent on offense, he isn't. I have no clue why you're defending him so much.

He has a really solid handle, but he can't score. If he, at the very least, could get to the line more, even that would be somewhat respectable. Watching him on offense is a headache.

side note, people bagged the otto porter contract, otto porter shot 43% from 3pt last year... shows the importance of 3 ball in today's game.

He should be the 5th best offensive option on the court for you. Which if the Pels land a trade for a decent PG, then he will be.

If he was a 40% 3 point shooter, then he would be worth more than 12 mil per year. He's already really good defensively.

His 3P% went from .324 to .348 last year. If he is working on this 3ball all summer, and improves at the same clip, he'll be at .372, which is solid. Plus, he is only 26, and he shoots well from the FT line, so there is hope.

With Asik...no hope...

Hill is a guy you sign to fill out your roster. It sucks to have a dude like this making this kind of money which inhibits us from addressing a bigger need. The Pels bought the dude like he was the missing piece to a championship team

Like I said in this thread, Solo has a really good handle. He can move with the ball surprisingly well. I wish the guy would do two things: Make threes at a more respectable clip, and attack the goddam basket.

No 12 million in basketball is not a lot for a starting player who plays 82 games. Back-ups like langston galloway get 7-8 million a year (just signed a 3 year 21 million dollar deal).

Sometimes vets take a cheap deal for 10 million or so to be on a potential championship team, but that is rare. Durant taking 25 million a year was lucky for golden state. Top players are getting 35 million a year or more.

Educate yourself!

Last years salary cap was 94.14m this years is 99m...I think it's definitely fair to compare a deal from last year to a deal made this year...

Hill is a starter you numb nuts - he plays almost 30 minutes a game. Man do you even watch?

C'mon Earl. I expect better from you. Stick to football LOL.
