We don't have 2-3 years to wait on someone to develop NBA level skills. It's gonna be Hield or Dunn if either are there. Should just be happy if Demps doesn't trade the pick to oversign somebody at this point.

Dumbest shite I heard. No one knows how long it will take him to develop. AD was projected as a project offensive player, Aaron Gordon, Lavine, and Booker were all seen as guys who would take time to develop.

AD: 1st overall pick, made a big jump between year 1 and 2. Was considered NBA ready, but needed to work on his offensive game and did so very quickly.
Gordon: 4th overall pick. I would consider a "9.1 PPG, 6.5 RPG" 2nd year player still developing...
LaVine: 13th overall pick. He's an example of a potential player on a bad team, he gets minutes (24.7 MPG last year, 28.0 MPG this year) and is developing quickly. 13th overall pick, that is where you'd take a more "developmental" type player. He's still developing and finding his niche.
Booker: 13th overall pick. Same as above, he gets minutes and is developing rather quickly and well. He should continue to get better.
Luwawu gets drafted, he plays <20 MPG and will be a project that takes a lot of time like Gordon, not Lavine or booker.

picking Luwawu at 6 would add to the collection of terrible GM decisions by the Pels

This sums up my feelings about the draft. At this point I don't care who we get as long as we don't trade the damn pick away. This franchise needs more excitement than signing some 25 year old D league players

Mock Draft
504, this was updated yesterday and Luwawu is projected 33rd... does this still make you think we should draft him with a lottery?

This draft also has us picking 9. Don't pay much attention to it

This board is in a lose-lose situation with Luwawu. If we pick him and he pans out, Byrdo will never shut the frick up. If we don't pick him, and he pans out, Byrdo will never shut the frick up. If we pick him and he doesn't pan out, Byrdo will just cop out on it being an upside pick and we'll have wasted a pick.

Soooooo true

Same thing goes with Hield. So if we picked someone else completely and they don't exceed expectations, we'll probably hear as much about Hield and Luwawu as our pick.

It won't matter if we bring in batum though. Hahaha

You shouldn't. There's an incredibly small chance we draft him so don't get so attached

So if Gentry come out and says we need to improve our D on dribble penetration and need a 6'7 athletic win who can facilitate. Why is there a small chance when Luwawu draft profile is a 6'7 athletic wing who's a good defender with good passing instincts.

I honestly don't think anyone loves Hield as much as Byrdo loves Luwawu. Most posters like Hield more than Luwawu, so naturally they'll argue with someone screaming like a lunatic that Luwawu is a future MVP and Hield is a flop risk.

Bc they will be looking for that in free agency. I doubt we even keep who we draft. Your obsession with this guy is strange

''I think in all honesty, I think we need that 6-7 athletic guy that can also facilitate,'' Gentry said during his season-ending news conference on Thursday at the Saints/Pelicans complex in Metairie. ''As to names, I have no idea who that is. But I know he's out there, so that will be obviously be a priority for us. If you got good basketball players, they can play multiple positions."
Mr Luwawu is 6'7''....
*So is Evan Fournier... and we know the front office was high on him at the deadline.
Imagine that French duo! a couple 1-2, 6'7'' frogs in the Big Easy!
Laissez le bon temps rouler!
