There are issues with this team beyond Zion’s injury

One player doesn’t make you go from the 1 seed to 9 straight losses. We would be better with Zion, obviously, but with the way this team is playing they’d still be bad.

Yea...the defense has been arse this past month. Can't be arse in the things you're supposed to be good at like defense, rebounding, and energy. We just bad all around.

Larry and Jose being arse this year is a big part of it.

No team in the bottom 10 of the league in 3 pts made/game currently has a winning record. We are in that bottom 10.

One of the worst teams in the NBA now. Absolutely insane collapse

We haven’t made a 3 this game and yet people still say we don’t need a shooter, just need Zion back

Yeah wait when Zion does come back and they all clunk off his passes.

This

Griff banked on Trey/CJ/BI + Vinson being able to turn one or more of Herb/Jose/Dyson/Naji into a shooter(he’s all but said as much), and the latter simply didn’t happen. Vinson is human and unfortunately BI has been injured and Trey often disappears.

Doesn’t help Willie is really bad at balancing the floor offensively(not that Griff has made that easy). We will routinely run lineups with 1 or 0 shooters.

Add to that a brutal schedule, injuries, and you have our situation

Our roster has 3 guys on it right now that you feel pretty good taking a 3pt shot - CJ, Trey and Ingram. An nba playoff team needs more than that.

Alvarado has probably exceeded expectations this year as a shooter, but Herb, Naji and Dyson all channeling al farouq aminu from behind the arc just leaves the shooting depth on the team woeful. And Daniel Graham was a real whiff as a shooter acquisition.

He's still not right.

Our schedule at the beginning of the season was cupcake

Even the good teams were struggling a but and lost a couple to us

But regardless I think the locker room fell apart when BI decided to sit out until his 2nd trimester

Feels that way. Something happened with Bi and his commitment to this team. Maybe it was seeing zion get all the praise while he sat on the bench? Maybe he realizes he’s not robin, not Batman? Feels like people aren’t giving their all anymore and that’s all chemistry

Yup we caught a lot of breaks with good teams and injuries.

I think the obvious answer with BI is what the team has routinely said: he’s not healthy

The team cleared him a long time ago. The last couple weeks he was out was completely up to him. He better be injured because this game is beyond embarrassing for him

I’m fully aware of all the rampant head cannon around here.

The team though, via Joel/AD, have said repeatedly that BI is still not 100%

And it makes a lot more sense than suddenly the hardest working guy on the team, that has mentored a number of players, suddenly decided to not give a shite.
