Yep it’s always been the case that you have to beat the teams that you should beat.

It all matters in May

Competing against SA, MEM, and POR, we'll need to finish right at or above .500 to make the playoffs which I'm sure is this team's goal they have in mind right now. It's still plausible we finish with a winning record...

That means we'd need to go 22-10 the rest of the way:

a) The last 15 I easily could see us going 11-4.
- 9 of the last 15 are at home
- play only 1 team in that span that currently has a winning record (home game against PHI)

b) Means we need to go 11-6 over the next 17.
--roughly what we've accomplished over the past 17... we're 13-7 over our last 20 games and that was against similar competition, mostly without Zion.

They are taking care of business just fine so far. POR and SAS are both going to lose tonight, which we really needed.

I don’t see us making the playoffs right now unless we win the next 5.

Need to win 21 of the last 30 to finish the season with a winning record to secure the 8th seed.

Last 15 games we should expect to get 11 wins as long as we’re healthy with that schedule. That means we need to go 10-5 over the next 15.

Better win the next 5:
@IND
OKC
@GS
POR
@POR

Because this 10 game stretch afterwards will be rough and will want to be able to go 5-5 here:

@LAL - L
LAL - L
@LAC - L
@DAL - L
@UTA - L
MIA - W
@SAC - W
CLE - W
MIN - W
@MIN - W

Indy will be tuff, Okc has been a thorn in our arse, and I cant see us beating Portland two in a row. That's a tuff ask.

Why did you put the games all out of order? That's weird.

Because there’s a lot of fricking games. I didn’t copy and paste. I put them in order of perceived difficulty

when is luka back?
Dallas could be W.

I figure home vs lakers is toss up.
Miami is toss up.
Kings are tied with Pels in loss column. @kings is not a gimme.

thunder 8-2 last 10.

@Indy is toss up. Oladipo is much like zion. Back, but not "himself" yet.

Portland smells 8th. A split.
3-2 would be my guess.

Edit: ingram is out.

@Indy is L, not toss up.

If hes still out for portland AND thunder pelifans will be in mourning.
Headbanging and woulda coulda.

41-41 is a reasonable goal, would require going 20-10 here on out which is a 58 win pace. If they can do that or get close this season is a huge win

they are not making the playoffs.
that would have required the above win pace plus MEM and POR falling out which isn’t happening

let’s just enjoy the team

i agree. A lot of people are programmed to only care if team is in the running for championship or at least playoffs.

I grew up in the era of cbs ncaa saturday football. You got one random game. Not 1 v 5. In that era you better be ok just enjoying the college game.

And my local nba was Philadelphia. They won one nba. Usually Celtics won.
You better be ok with just enjoy game because it was reality.

Local colleges hoops big 5 phila. One champ. Lasalle.
But usually a big L for penn vs kentucky or temple v kansas or north carolina once you got out of the palestra.

Love the game as it unfolds play by play. You cant count on anything.

probably not both.

memphis has #1 sos left. Unlikely to make it.

But pels are tied with sacto and suns in loss column.

The next two vs portland may end up being the difference.

The Pels almost control their own path to the playoffs since they can almost single handedly catch Portland and SA. They still have a couple of shots at Memphis also.

They have to stay healthy and we need Ingram to play.

538 predicts POR to finish 41-41. We're currently 2-0 vs POR, so if we split the remaining two against them, we'd have the tiebreaker. So we likely need to go 20-10 the rest of the way and finish at 41-41.

Oh, and MEM is going to crash and burn with their remaining schedule. They aren't really much of a threat.
