I said i don't care about picks. Whatever picks are needed to make it happen, within reason. I just didn't list them out, for any team.

You already threw several picks at Cleveland, hence why I didn’t think there were any left over for Houston.

Just because you don’t care about picks doesn’t mean that you can just say “etc etc etc” and the deal works out.

Bleacher Report's latest mock draft was made for Pels fans apparently. Thoughts:
Step 1:
quote:

Charlotte Hornets receive: No. 3 pick (via HOU), Cam Whitmore and Jock Landale

Houston Rockets receive: Brandon Ingram

New Orleans Pelicans receive: Miles Bridges (via sign-and-trade), Jae'Sean Tate, No. 6 pick (via CHO) and No. 44 pick (via GSW, from HOU)

Step 2:
quote:

New York Knicks receive: No. 6 pick and Larry Nance Jr.

New Orleans Pelicans receive: Mitchell Robinson and No. 24 pick

Draft Missi at 21
Step 3:
quote:

Boston Celtics receive: No. 24 pick

New Orleans Pelicans receive: No. 30 pick, No. 54 pick and a 2026 second-round pick (via MIN, NOP, NYK or POR)

Draft KJ Simpson at 30

I don't see how we're a better team coming out of this trade. You come out with a guy that doesn't space the floor and creates a logjam with Trey. You get a defensive center that is more offensively challenged than Rudy Gobert, and an undersized defensive wing that can't shoot.

That would be a disaster of an offseason.

Why is Charlotte getting so much? Why is New York getting so much?

I’m pretty sure that’s an illegal trade. The team trading the player can’t aggregate salary. Only we can

Quite the opposite. I’d melt if he made that garbage trade.

Not only that but sign and trades cannot happen or be discussed before the start if free agency, we would get hit with fines and draft pick loss with this.

No way we would agree to this before the draft, can’t even negotiate the contract with the woman beater

Relax Nancy. We have picks. If we are getting someone better than BI then I don’t care about them. That’s all I meant.

Time to rehash this thread with the Murray trade and now that we know we have a PG.

Next trade:
Philly: Ingram, Strus or Levert(if Cleveland wants to dump salary)
Cavs: Reed, 2 1sts from Philly
Pels: Allen, McCain

This trade puts us around 20 million below the tax so we have access to full MLE and BAE to use, along with the Kira TPE if someone wants to dump a player. I would offer full BAE to Achiuwa, full MLE to Hayward, bring back Zeller. Giving full BAE to Precious maybe enough to get him away from Knicks,

Murray/McCain/Jose
Herb/CJ/Hawk
Trey/Hayward/Ryan
Zion/Achiuwa/JRE
Allen/Missi/Zeller

That’s 15 deep of guys that can play

I rather resign Naji than have Precious or Hayward.

Swap first rounders with Utah for Kessler and put him in the TPE.

But if I do have a trade proposal. I try to get Sexton and Kessler.

Sexton is not an option for us anymore, we have our lead guard and don’t need another one.

I don’t know if we would want Naji back as the primary backup at the 4 spot, but if we would then he could be brought back at around 8 million a year average. The thing I’m looking at with that deal is Hayward looked great in Charlotte last season at the beginning of the year, but looked horrible at OKC. I take a flyer on a one year MLE for him, best case it’s a hit and we have a good player on a very tradeable salary, worst case he’s just a tradeable salary

And, pivot

Lauri would be a perfect 5 for the current roster

Sexton played on the bench with Utah and I feel like he can be that with us too.

Kessler
Zion
Herb
CJ
Murray

Jose
Sexton
Hawkins
Murphy
Yves

I just don’t see CJ going to the bench tbh.

Yeah, at guard, we now have:

Murray
CJ
Herb
Jose
Hawk
Reeves

We really don't need any more guards.

Lauri is not a 5. Doesn't matter though as Utah will want 3-4 1sts and someone like Hawkins and we would have to pay Lauri $50 million.

Yeah, the more I’m thinking about it the more I don’t like the idea. Working up the numbers Lauri would likely cost us BI, Hawk and 4-5 firsts, then with his extension next season we would probably have to dump CJ and/or Trey to avoid being in the second apron.

Definitely not worth all that

I would trade BI and bring in Jared Allen and any other long term assets possible (picks). I think it would be beneficial to bring back Naji as a role bench player as he can play multiple roles off the bench.

I would keep CJ as a 3 pt vet leader off the bench, but with Murrray now and needing Herb and Trey to start he needs to run the bench unit.
