NBA has suspended Suns owner Robert Sarver for one year from the Suns and Mercury organization based on league investigation. Sarver has also been fined $10 million and complete training program focused on respect and appropriate workplace conduct.

That's a pretty hefty fine by NBA standards. I doubt the NBA wanted to force another owner to sell, plus they sort of had inside help with getting Sterling to sell. I'm not sure they could have made that happen without his wife.

The evidence being in court made it easy to obtain as well as leverage him.

Sarver’s shite being otherwise makes it hard to force him out.

That seems more punitive to the fans than Sarver. They should increase the fine if they want to punish Sarver more.

How often do they strip firsts?

Only time I can remember was the Wolves with the Joe Smith contract because it was circumventing then CBA.

Not sure why the NBA does not strip 1sts. Would punish him by devaluing his asset.

Draft picks are worth so much in this league compared to others that the league doesn’t like to do that.

The Stepien Rule exists for a reason.

On Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Westbrook listed his Brentwood home for sale. After purchasing the home for just under $20 million in 2018, Russ listed the house for $29 million.

Even rich folks have lost their damn minds in this housing market.

Is the luxury home market being affected by the economy? Not like buyers in that range would have to finance..

Not a big finance guy myself, but I do believe in that range, people actually do finance.

Reason being, you don't give up $29mil cash to pay for the house, when you can finance, and still use that $29mil to invest/make money on it monthly as opposed to giving it all away.

It also helps keep the rich from getting richer.

The Celtics and Lakers built their 80s dynasties in part on making deals with teams like the Warriors and Cavs who were poorly managed as well as using NBA compensation rules on free agents.

The latter got Magic to the Lakers when the Jazz signed Gail Goodrich and the league dictated the Lakers get firsts in compensation. Then Goodrich tore his Achilles a season in with New Orleans.

Not good. Somebody about to bail the Lakers out?
