When the Lakers sold out on defense last night and they basically decided to not guard Jaxson Hayes so they could blitz every pick n roll and focus their defense on BI and CJ, I looked at Hayes standing there alone on the 3 point line with LeBron playing center field and I imagined that was Zion instead of Jaxson…

Then I imagined how teams literally triple teamed Zion all year last year and he still averaged 27 ppg….

Yeah baw just did the "we're doing this without Zion" commentary in my thread.

We're a playoff team without Zion on our roster right now.

CJ and BI have been largely unstoppable together.

Herb and Jonas are willing to play within themselves and their opportunities and don't require forced touches.

PERFECT slot for a guy who is impossible to stop driving without any help/shooting

You know what? If he and stepdaddy don’t want to be a part of THIS…

frick him. Happily ship his arse out for all the picks.

This team is likeable as shite. They love playing together. Full of good dudes. They love Willie.

And they are winning.

i'm right there with you. would it be great to see zion on this team? yes. do i want a pissed off, Primadona messing up this team's chemistry? nope.

if they get him to buy in great, if not. see ya.

I was thinking about this last night.

We're really good with BI/CJ. With CJ/Val we're a little older but if we have to deal Zion, we already have a playoff roster. We'll get at least one starting-quality young guy in return and possibly an assload of picks. We can be a top-4 seed team with that deal.

Just not if we trade him to NYK b/c other than Barrett I don't know if they literally have any talent to acquire

Personally I think all the Zion chatter is extremely overblown. I think he’s gonna be here and sign an extension and is perfectly fine with the franchise.

I’m just saying IF that’s not the case and he just wants to be in a big market for his “brand” or whatever.

frick him. Don’t care. Ship him out. (I don’t think that’s the case)

This is my feeling 100%. For those who want to rationalize for Zion I understand but I just don't believe he's going to have this true change of heart.

There was a play last night where CJ got a wide open 3 because everyone was in the paint focused on shutting down the BI/JV P&R and my first thought was "what if the other 2 players out there were Zion and Trigga?"

2 months ago I would have disagreed, but I agree with you now. I think the media pressure got him out of his shell.

Also, even in the past, I didn't think it was Zion. It's his stepfather, who clearly didn't want him being apart of the family Willie is building. Hopefully Zion gets to think/act for himself now that he's around guys like BI/CJ and his stepfather loses influence.

It's not rationalizing. If you look at what we actually know or have a decent amount of smoke about, it seems pretty clear 1) Zion is caught in the middle of whatever is going down between his step dad and Griff. 2) Zion has chosen to rejoin the team and has been joining the festivities as much as anyone else on the bench.

The league is fricked.

Imagine what we could be if Zion becomes his own man, buys in, and gets calls like the ones that Jokic got that saved the Nugs

You are preaching to the choir. I’ve been there from jump, and that goes for any player that doesn’t want to play for our team. You don’t get Pussy by begging for pussy…

Let’s not discount Herb’s ability to cut to the rim when others are 2x. Herb gets a lot of dunks now from BI/CJ. I just think Zion would give him even more of those bunnies. Herb just has unreal Court awareness on both sides.

Hopefully Zion will realize he is his own man now. It is a difficult time for any young man in their early 20s, it is that strange time where you can make your on decisions and don't have to listen to your parents but your still young enough to still think you have to.

Jonas Valanciunas scored seven of his 17 points in the last five minutes of the game, and he knocked down a few critical shots when the Pels needed a scoring boost. But Ingram and McCollum were surgical in picking apart the Lakers’ defense, and having two shot-creators of that caliber makes the Pelicans much more difficult to handle in these close games. When those two guys are clicking the way they were on Friday, New Orleans looks like a team that can be a serious threat to get out of the Play-In Tournament and make some noise in the real postseason.

Both Ingram and McCollum can score at all three levels on the floor, they’re impossible to stop in one-on-one situations and they get their teammates involved if opposing defenses try to double them. Ingram was already having a career year, but putting McCollum next to him gives New Orleans one of the most potent one-two punches around.

“CJ and Brandon, down the stretch, (we were) putting them in an environment where they can just play and make reads,” Green said. “I thought they did a great job of executing down the stretch.”

From Will Guillory's article.
