Pretty sure the Hornets/Pelicans could get Dub-C for a couple second round picks and cap relief.

A great fit at the SF position for this team IMO.

Didnt you tell me a couple weeks ago that he's not worth his contract?

What changed your mind?

I thought "Dub" is the kids slang word for "W"?

And wouldn't Chris Copeland's slang nickname be "CC"? Like Cris Carter?

And this kid Jimmy Butler, I am quickly becoming infatuated with as well. Love his game.

I was mistaken on his salary at that point. The highest his salary gets is $6.7 before the team option year 4 at $7.1M.

ETA - That was also assuming it took a lot more than a second to get him.

I think this team could really go to another level if they acquired both Chandler and Lowry. A Lowry/Gordon/Chandler/Davis/Draft pick or a possibly future Lowry/Gordon/Chandler/Anderson/Davis line both have the potential to be a championship caliber team.

A forward who is interchangeable defensively at the 3 & 4 positions. A forward who is respectable from the corner-3, can get to the rim and finish, who also draws fouls, getting to the free throw line and makes them at a good rate.

Chandler (or Dub-C for VOR) played a lot at the PF position in New York as a small-ball four. While he wasn't great by any means, he still played it respectively and well enough.

Chandler has great size and athleticism that could make him one of the best on-ball wing defenders in the NBA.

quote:

“I think he’s an athletic, ahead-of-the-curve defender,” Karl told Adrian Dater of the Denver Post. “He played (a lot) for New York basically because he was one of their best defenders, if not their best defender. The addition of Andre and him gives us an opportunity to move toward being a really good defensive team. He can guard big men, little men, all over the court.” Read more at https://www.hoopsworld.com/nba-am-wilson-chandler-off-trading-block/#RM40dYzMxTqCTRoB.99

As of January 7th, I should go back and re-calculate his percentages up to now, Chandler has made 42% of his corner-3 attempts the last three seasons.

Also, as of January 7th, Chandler has made 67% of attempts in the restricted area in that same time period. LINK

Chandler does not draw fouls, though. That's certainly a detriment to his game. The Hornets are the third worst team at getting to the line per game as is. So, he does not help that cause at all.

I agree

Lowry's on-ball perimeter defense and his ability to get to the free throw line would do a lot for the Hornets/Pelicans, IMO.

where do you find the corner 3 stats? hoopdata has range numbers, but i haven't seen specifics like that any where.

i like chandler. he's athletic, has a good contract, and could be had for a reasonable price it seems. he is a bit of a chucker though- but that can be cured if he is a 4th or 5th option.
