Davis is not getting traded to the Lakers no matter how many times people say it.

So look, appreciate the effort.

There’s a few reasons why no sane GM would ever do this.

You absolutely never want this many draft picks in the same class. Why?

First, draft classes vary greatly year to year. Second, no matter the year, no matter how good the scouting, a huge percentage of lottery picks and picks in general are going to be bums. Flat out bums. Third, the second you use a pick on a player, that player has far less value than the pick you used on him did.

Next you have to think of roster construction and development. This would be an absolute nightmare for a coaching staff and stunt the development of all of them. They would get absolutely crushed on a nightly basis.

What you want is pick assets from other teams spread out over multiple drafts. That way you can weather the shifting sands of draft depth, cherry pick players you are truly interested in, have players developing at different times, AND have the assets to make trades for veterans that are already good.

This approach would never work. You need a mix of player experience in order to be successful.

This is not the NFL, you don't want more than 2-3 rookies at any given time on a NBA team, you will SEVERELY stunt their growth to the point where they are just busts

I hear ya and I mostly agree. Just trying to think a bit out of the box and bandy around something different, other than the same 3 packages everybody keeps talking about.

The reason I referenced the Fab 5 though is nobody ever thought that would work at that time. Starting 5 freshmen had never been done before and everybody was fascinated. I'm not a fan of the process, but at least it was something original. Sooner or later someone is going to go against the current model (have to combine superstars to contend) and they will be the new standard. We are in an extremely unique position to shake up the status quo..

So how much does your employer get for letting people with special needs work there?

So once Davis leaves and Holiday sees it is a rebuild, then says he would like to be traded, you wouldn't oblige him?

So by all reports Jrue was embracing the leadership role in the wake of AD leaving, but now that we've landed Zion he's going to see it's a rebuild and request a trade?

C'mon man.

I can't imagine a coach having to manage five 18 years olds on an NBA team.

Didn’t the Blazers try something similar to this and that’s how they ended up as the JailBlazers?

Do you not understand how difficult it would be to develop so many rookies at one time? Especially if you trade away a proven, respected, hard working veteran in Jrue who happens to also be the leader of the franchise?

Holy shite.
