We are talking about trading CJ for Jrue- which you said you wouldn’t. If you’re getting a better player- you always make that trade and figure the rest out later. Jrue is better than CJ snd im not hating on CJ by saying that.

NO. Less floor spacing and acquiring a guy who has one foot out the door towards retirement

Pels aren’t going to do it anyway so it doesn’t matter

I can see Jrue going to Philly and harden going to the heat/clippers. Portland gets more assets in return

Jrue is just a better player than CJ. Again if they took CJ for Jrue- you always make that trade and figure the rest out later. This whole concept of worrying about chemistry and certain skills is silly considering you’re getting the better NBA player. Regardless, it seems like sixers want Jrue.

I simply cannot agree with this. Jrue is better defensively, but CJ is superior offensively. They’re neck and neck imo.

No they’re not and thats probably majority consensus by people who even love CJ. Jrue is easily the leagues top wing defender and can score anywhere from 18-25 a night. CJ is a horrible defender who is a legit shooter/scorer that averages what near 20 a night maybe.

A team doesn’t end up top 10 in defense with so many “horrible defenders”

CJ is not as bad on defense as you believe, and he has proven he can be a #1 option on offense. Jrue struggles as a #1 on offense, he’s better as a compliment on that side of the ball.

We can argue on it all day long, but Jrue and CJ are absolutely in the same tier of guards, just because you may value defense more than offense doesn’t make your point right.

Dude why are you acting like Jrue hasn't already been on this team before and the fit wasn't great with BI. Jrue is just not a consistent enough shooter to work with BI and Zion. The BI/CJ Zion/CJ stretches was better than anything we saw from them with Jrue.

I think Jrue is the better player but CJ is the better fit.

Nobody puts CJ in the same tier as Jrue. If you put CJ on that same Bucks team instead of Jrue they dont sniff the finals. CJ can be a #1 option for a couple games but hes never has been a #1 option for a season in portland or for us- in fact he’s probably #3 for us. Jrue is not #1 either- neither are; the fact you think so highly of CJ offensively is part of the issue. Just because you personally overvalue CJs offense and minimize his defense liabilities doesn’t make you right either. But overall NBA consensus will tell you Jrue is a better player than CJ. Dont believe me then just watch what portland gets for Jrue in a trade compared to what they got for CJ.

Im not talking fit. Im talking player. We have much better role players than we ever did with Jrue. We didn’t have herb, Trey, Jose, etc. Not even close.

Yes agreed. But Im in the group if you can a better player- you get him and figure it out later. But yes with this current team how it’s constructed yes. CJ technically is better fit.

I’d trade CJ for Jrue in a heartbeat

Neither one of them are true leaders that reach Zion or Ingram tbh

We aren’t a contender either way bc Zion never plays

Might as well bring back the player that we like more.

I'd take Jrue over CJ. Heck, his 3 point shooting has been as good as CJ the last 2-3 years albeit on less volume. His contract also ends a year earlier. He is a better distributor and much better defender. However, I do not see the Pelicans making that kind of move.

Portland doesn't want CJ or his contract. The same reason why they want to move Holiday.

Why are some of y'all acting like the Blazers are just looking to dump Jrue they will want assets back. And no matter what y'all think about Jrue the difference between him and CJ is not worth giving up assets.

Frankly, Griffin wont do it and honestly Im ok giving up assets especially those Bucks picks which probably aren’t worth anything now. Hes going to run with this team regardless. Whether thats good or bad decision we’ll see soon enough. But longtime pels fans will tell you how this all ends up at the end of the season.

Wonder if Jrue is considering retirement even more now, would not surprise me. He has talked about not playing after his current contract is up.

I’d take Jrue back in a heartbeat if the trade made sense and didn’t gut the team. One of my favorite Pels of all time.

Sadly I don’t see it going that way. I just hope he ends up on a winner again, Jrue is one of the good guys and deserves it.
