I will give Crewz credit: he is the one and only Pelicans blogger/media type not cumming himself at the thought of Spoon.
He is being pretty logical and real about it, which is a rarity among our blogger types who are all constantly competing in the Woke Olympics.

Serious question. You guys never considered Mulkey as HC before Baylor did?? I don't know if she was HC over there, just asking out of curiosity.

The thing with T Spoon and any other player development coaches is that its very possible to be a great player development/skills coach vs being an actual head coach. You would hope that griff and the others making this decision should KNOW that.
That being said, if the pels go hire Becky Hammon over T Spoon, watch the narrative go from being positive that a woman was hired to negative bc we hired an out of house white woman in a black players league over the in house black woman that our players loved. I just dont think it would go over too well overall.

I don’t think she’s the best candidate for the job and I do agree with him that she should be the lead assistant. But cmon guys we’re not in the facility and don’t know what’s going on. So, we have to give the ppl that do the benefit of the doubt that maybe she’s impressed them enough that they think she could be a good coach.

I would have more confidence if Gayle went to Fred Vinson and said, i'll pay you whatever you want to stay an assistant coach. I also want you to single handedly select our next head coach who you think is the right fit for our players and culture.

That's great, and if it works out then kudos to everyone involved in the decision.
But Zion is still going to peace out if we don't start winning.
So picking her if she's the best candidate with the added plus of Zion liking her is great.
Picking her because she's cheaper is not.
