Gangs are only in existence for one reason. Money.

Even without drugs, they will start other revenue streams like human trafficking (in existence already), blavk market gun sales, business extortion. There will always be gang violence in one way or another no matter what, but as long as its rampant in the drug trade, you will never see the war on drugs end as there is too much money to be made on it from the perspective of the elites.

Personally I say legalize everything.

I mean, do you people really think that you are convincing each other here with your prepackaged takes on BLM? No, most of you know better than that. It's not like most of you have anything thoughtful to say. Most of you possess zero empathy or even desire to understand others' positions.

Yet your desire to vent is so profound that you pollute this board with Poliboard filth.

The way I’m looking at the PLENTY of people trying to downplay this....

Does racism exist in the western, developed world... yes, it clearly does.

Should it? Absolutely not... ever, under any circumstances.

Agreed.

quote:

Some of you don’t like it... seemingly because you don’t believe it’s an issue / doesn’t exist / doesn’t effect you....I suggest you’re part of the problem of it never getting resolved simply because you won’t push for it and instead, argue against a basic human right because it upsets your sports. WAAAAAAAA!

Breaking the law, fighting with police, resisting arrest, and being shot is not a form of racism.

A lot of the examples that are used to push the BLM movement are horseshite, but that doesn’t mean that racism doesn’t exist in America.

Does racism exist? Yes, of course does and hate to break it to people it will ALWAYS. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s widespread or the norm.

I don’t think it’s systemic as it is claimed. I think in many cases it’s interpreted or misconstrued or reached for but I don’t think it’s a core tenet of society

From yesterday:

Utah police shoot 13-year-old autistic boy after his mother called 911 for help

quote:

When Golda Barton dialed 911 on Friday, she hoped emergency responders could help hospitalize her 13-year-old son, who has Asperger syndrome and was having a mental crisis. Instead, a Salt Lake City police officer repeatedly shot Linden Cameron after he ran away, leaving the boy in serious condition with injuries to his intestines, bladder, shoulder and ankles. Barton says he was unarmed, and police said they didn’t find a weapon at the scene.

____________

[Linden] has long battled severe separation anxiety when she leaves him alone, she told KUTV, and Friday was her first day back at work in almost a year. She called 911 when he suffered a mental breakdown, she said. “I said, ‘He’s unarmed. He doesn’t have anything. He just gets mad and he starts yelling and screaming,’” she said. “He’s a kid. He’s trying to get attention. He doesn’t know how to regulate.” Police told her to stay outside while they entered her house, she said. Barely five minutes later, she said she heard them ordering her son to the ground and then, a volley of gunfire.

_____________

“Police were called because help was needed but instead more harm was done when officers from the SLPD expected a 13-year-old experiencing a mental health episode to act calmer and collected than adult trained officers,” Neurodiverse Utah said in a statement.

LINK

This shite goes well beyond citizen side compliance. These are officers and departments across the country that are poorly trained, quick to violence as a solution, often poorly qualified, and regularly being asked to handle roles in a community they are poorly equipped for, and the bad apples are being propped up and defended by a corrupted back-the-blue brotherhood system and a union that fights tooth and nail, including by threatening to allow violence to perpetuate, in order to force governments to reduce the level of accountability for their officers when these bad apples are found or these incidents occur.

Black people just happen to be at the front line because of their outsized rates of poverty due to hundreds of years of systemic oppression and abuse, which goes in conjunction with ineffective strategies like broken windows policing that focuses officer resources on criminalizing poor communities through over-policing and over-focusing low level and non violent offenses, and while systemic racism is very real and growing amongst law enforcement, these issues are not isolated to them. Reforms around greater accountability, community oversight, better training, de-fanging unions, re-allocating resources from departments to reorganize the structure in which we serve communities so trigger happy thugs aren’t the first and only responders who show up to your door when your child is having a mental breakdown, affect more than just people of color, and the reforms would benefit more than just people of color.

Never did since OP made shite up and It was immediately used as a springboard for the usual suspects to spew anti civil rights nonsense.

But if this thread gets it 6 pages of racist apologist nonsense, it can endure a few more of people pushing back

Hey, look, it's that one guy with an opinion who instantly considers himself superior to anyone who holds an opposing viewpoint. Man, I'm glad he's here. I finally know who I should look up to.

I'm not arguing with you. You are an arrogant little shite-stain who enjoys the attention he gets from being obtuse on the internet. No matter what anyone in here says, you're going to remain an ignorant little shite-stain, so it's not worth my time to make relevant points.
