I can say this, however. The Pelicans med staff is clearly better than the Trailblazers, but admittedly worse than the Suns.

I am not sure how to even begin to evaluate medical staff. They guys look at the athletes, then maybe they get referred to doctors. Clearly the players have a say in the process beyond providing much of the initial diagnostic info and sticking to prescribed plans.
Then there is the communication issue.
Agree with VOR, and it is mostly pointless to discuss because of the extreme lack of visibility.
Plus, if the Suns are so magical, why did Lopez play 82 here and not there. What about Davis' early catch with the stress reaction?
It's a complicated field laced with privacy issues and surrounded by PR.

So those injuries were caused and/or exacerbated by the medical staff? How much actual diagnosis and treatment did/does the team staff handle for truly serious injuries? Also, are the same people responsible for Jamal Mashburn currently treating Anthony Davis?

Impossible. Tampa bay bucs is def worse. They have had outbreaks of staph and MRSA.

Hope this is enough "Evidence" for ya VOR...
Why are the Trailblazers the worst? The Trailblazers have screwed up two superstar caliber players in past half decade - Brandon Roy (only 29 today) and Greg Oden. Doesn't get much worse than blowing it with your future. They could've been sitting on a core of Roy, Batum, Aldridge and Oden. Also, misdiagnosed Joel Przybilla's knee injury and he had to have double surgeries that basically ended his career. So that's 3 complete frick ups that turned out poorly for them as of late. Further, back in 2012 they let Aldridge play 2 MONTHS with an injured hip because "IT WENT UNNOTICED IN AN MRI." While they somehow lucked out and Aldridge managed to not do long term damage and is a beast this season, you have to admit that's pretty shoddy work. So that's why Portland is the worst in the NBA. They have had high profile guy's careers end on their watch.
Now why are the Suns the best? Because they revive and extend careers. Nash played as long as he did without getting injured and at a decent level on the Suns. Then he heads to LA, where he suddenly can't keep himself on the court and every injury nags incredulously. IF you want to believe that's a coincidence then go ahead, that's your call. But the exact same thing happened with A'mare Stoudemire in New York and Grant Hill on the Clippers. Nevertheless here's a list of veterans in their twilight years, most of whom had big injuries prior to joining the Suns that had their careers miraculously revived.
Grant Hill (played 5 more seasons)
Shaquille O'neal (played 3 more seasons)
Vince Carter (playing his 3rd season)
Michael Redd (after double ACL surgeries got another year in PHX)
Jermaine O'neal (finding new life in GSW this year)
Channing Frye (playing this year after heart surgery)
It's literally incredible the work Phoenix has done. Yeah, none of those guys came back to be superstars again, but I've seen effective games from every one of them. And the injuries these Suns players have recovered from are the ones that other teams botched. It's about results man.
So where do the Pelicans fall? Somewhere in between, VOR.

You do realize, right, that the team's "in house" medical staff only deals with injuries to a certain extent. Beyond that outside specialists are consulted, and they could be from anywhere.

Our staff before every game stretches out our players and gives them deep muscle massages.this is one of the worst things you can do before a game it relaxes the muscles, when muscles are relax they have a better risk of being injured. Our staff should know that only the players should stretch themselves, you should not let another person stretch you out, and active stretching should be done pre-game, like high knees and high leg kicks.And all the massages should be done post game not pregame to remove soreness. Our staff is payed to know basic things like this, and i believe they are to blame for our consistent injury troubles. Not freak injuries like davis's hand but consitent muscle injuries.

It could be sour grapes because I believe this comment was attributed to another team's training staff, but Phoenix doesn't have the best medical team, they have the best PR for their medical team.
I'm not sure what to make of the Pelicans medical staff. Part of the house cleaning Demps did when he came in turned over the in house staff. Gordon was initially diagnosed by the team, but once he heard micro fracture in a contract year he put on his tin foil hat and started seeing his own doctors. So you can't really use Gordon to measure the team doctors because he didn't use them. Although I guess him not using them says something.

I will repeat. Nobody on this board, as far as I'm aware, has any real knowledge of the relative competency of the various NBA medical staffs. Nor, I suspect, do they know who comprises those staffs or what outside outside physicians/specialists are consulted as needed.
