So "full season" Zion at his peak is a 22/5/5 player?

Certainly sounds like a guy that will take the franchise to glory with an insane contract

Who has said Zion is at his peak this entire season?

He isn’t going 100% this year which I actually kind of agree with. He was redlining in the past and that at least partially led to his injuries. If he wants to do the Shaq method of playing into shape I’m over the course of the season then dominating the playoffs than that’s fine with me. Only time will tell if this strategy was a good one.

Shel posted some numbers a few days ago. It’s a minutes thing. On a per 36 minute basis he’s right there with KD and LeBron. Zion just isn’t playing as many minutes yet.
He absolutely has no excuse for coming into the season out of shape. But if keeping him healthy all year means managing his games played and minutes like they have, I think most of us will take it to have him ramping up to peak at the end of the season.

A- he hasn’t peaked, as seen by his minutes
B- Pelicans have a deep roster and ideally he isn’t required to go out and get 30-40 every night (playoffs we will need him to take over games, certainly)
C- he seemed to be hitting his stride a few games before the all star break, let’s judge his numbers as we get closer to April

Zion is 23 years old. He’s still years away from his peak

You should not be happy with hi doing this.

Time has already told us this is not a good idea for him. It's not his rookie season. He needs to come into the season in shape, no excuses.

He’s neither peaked nor is this a “full season”

The game has changed. Shaq could dominate on size/athletic ability alone. Those days are gone

Physically, he’s past his peak. Duke Zion and preseason rookie year Zion were on a different level athleticism wise. He’s lost a lot.
