well, Tim Duncan has 5 as the MVP centerpiece. Not his backcourt mates.

Dallas has 1(should have 2, arguably) centered around their front court MVP

I'm all in on KD coming here. His unselfish play and and pure scoring ability would make this team unstoppable.

I don't understand what this post has to do with the Lakers and the Gasol/Bynum duo.

It likely never happens but I got to see the two play together in a pickup game a few years back and it was filthy. Very, very filthy.

what are you arguing?

none of those teams had their 2 best players playing the 4 and the 5, which is what started the argument.

That many championships(upwards of 10) in the last 25 years have been facilitated through the post.

im arguing that if you put the top PF talent and top C talent in the NBA together, you'd prob have a contending team. Just a guess.

the argument is that it's not just through the post. There is always a dominant front court player.

No team, other than Duncan/Robinson, had it's two best players playing the 4 and the 5, and that team had Avery Johnson and a very clutch Sean Elliot tip toeing three.

That doesn't mean shite.

esp when you consider none have been the best PF(and top 3 NBA player) and top C in the NBA on the same team.

Marc Gasol is the best C in the league
Randolph is a pretty damn good PF.
They can't win a championship unless they get some front court players worth a shite.

Not that you can't, but the last 2 minutes of a game usually isn't spent with the ball in the post, it's in the hand of a ball handler.
WHile both Dirk and Duncan often facilitated the offense down the stretch, both were done from mid range, not the post, and both had at least 1 very good front court player to use in a pick and roll to create open shots.
It's not the easiest pass in the world to get the ball to your center on the post in the closing seconds of a game.

Karl's former team, Denver, also is a possibility -- with Malone and D'Alessandro there and with Karl pushing the idea of "putting the band back together" from his Nuggets tenure, a person with knowledge of the situation said. League sources say Karl is enamored with the idea of a deal that would send Kenneth Faried, Ty Lawson and Wilson Chandler to Sacramento.

The Pels can compete with that package.

c'mon man. AD is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY better than Randolph.

And Cousins is much better than Gasol. Better scorer, passer, and rebounder. Gasol is prob a better defender.

What?

Gasol is a better shooter, has better assist numbers, more steal+blocks, turns the ball over less and commits less fouls.

Demarcus has been a better rebounder, but he's also not on the court with a very good PF like Randolph.

Gasol also does all this while being used only 2/3's as much as the Kings use Boogie.

no to all of that.

Most teams would take Gasol over Cousins.

If Cousins were to miraculously come here I'd imagine you and all other UK fans would hop on the Pels train.

That's cool with me. And then we'll bring in Wall to complete the process.

so you are going to argue Cousins isnt a better scorer or rebounder than Gasol?

Marc Gasol career avg points per game is 14. He averaged 7.9 rebounds per game.

Cousins is 18.9/10.6

Cousins as he hits his prime, is 24ppg/12rpg.

You can call passing a wash, but Cousins is passing to his comrades on his 29win team. Gasol is assisting to his 55 win teammates, including 2 other all stars.

Cousins usage rate is almost twice that of Gasol's, he should have better stats. His team sucks.

I agree Cousins might be a better individual basketball player, but i would bet most teams would chose prime Gasol over Cousins when you consider everything.

besides scoring, why should his stats be better because of usage rate?

im not sure you understand the stat.

people say Randolph steals rebounds from Gasol, but why isnt Gasol the one getting 10,11,12 rebounds a game like Randolph does? Gasol doesnt seem to hinder him.

is prime Gasol the 14/7 player he was in his mid 20's? just curious

Cousins 24/14 as a 24 year old is pretty damn good.
