Now when we do fire Griff the new guy will be stuck with Willie who he may not want.

The guy that's going on 4 months healing from a 6 week injury is a huge part of the slow start

Pelicans are second fiddle to the Saints and always will be until they are sold. Deep down very few care unless their bank account is impacted enough to hurt

You mean the Fat Boys Pizza slob?

Yeah, I think Willie is doing a really good job. Despite the losses, our effort on defense has been noticeably better than under the last two regimes; and we do seem to be slowly improving every game.
I never saw improvement under gentry or SVG really. The same problems persisted every night and none ever got any better.
I do think this team can figure it out and get hot, but it’s not going to happen over the span of a few weeks. What sucks is that we’d be winning a lot of these games while we figured it out if Zion were healthy. The growth is encouraging, but the losses still sting

So once Gayle sells the team, the Saints will be second fiddle. Maybe Cash Money Records could pool some money together.

I hope that if Benson does fire Griff(who 100% deserves it), that she has learned her lesson via her own instances of micromanaging, and seeing the devastation of Griff’s micromanaging, that she lets whoever she hires work without conditions like that.
Because the only track record worse than Griff’s right now has been the Benson’s/Loomis/Lauscha.
Because let’s be honest, at every point they’ve sort of whiffed when it came to their major responsibilities. Whether it was keeping Demps on when they bought the team, than siding with him over Monty, then hiring Griff, than saddling him with Gentry for a year. The pervasive silly football brained mentality of wanting to win now, which has resulted in long-term under achievement and stagnation. There’s not a ton I can say positively for upper management/ownership in all this either, so I really don’t have a ton of confidence they get the next one right either.

The organization has no ability to hire a quality GM.
This franchise is dead.

Thank you. You have football people running a basketball organization. It starts at the top.

I just said this the other day.
Griffen should've been gone before the year. He is a lame duck gm.
He will do more damage before he leaves.

Griff's horrible offseason was not horrible at all if you're being honest. The teams' slow start has more to do with Zion than with him or Willie.
