I personally consider Sheridan unreliable but here you go.

Who will Mike D'Antoni coach next after leaving #Rockets? I am told #Pacers and #Sixers are his two top options. Not happening with #Pelicans or #Thunder.

Well duh....I don’t think anyone credible has had him linked to us. Plus there was the possibility of collusion with the Pacers being in talks with his people before he decided to leave Houston. At least that’s what was being thrown around.

Seems like the only “bad egg” or retread on the remaining list is Lue. So that’s good... I think

I still don’t know how to feel about Lue.

Qualifications:

1. Not Jason Kidd
2. Probably has already made his dumbest sideline face already

Lue is popular enough both with former players and teams looking for coaches that he's probably not terrible. I feel Griff getting "his guy" would be a good thing. Everyone in the organization rowing in the same direction is important. Even if he's only average, average with a good staff and on the same page as management is a better coaching situation than this team has had for quite a while.

I don’t like it but I’ll try to convince myself to like it like i did for Gentry

Lue may be fine. He made do a fine job.

I don’t want fine. I want home run. I want inspired. I want Brad Stephens. Erik Spoelstra. Have some vision instead of going with “adequate”.

I never did that. Hated Gentry from day 1 to the last day.

I’ve already talked myself into Lue being fine.

I agree completely, hopefully he surprises us or we luck into an inspired choice thanks to someone else taking Lue.

You know whats crazy -- Smart guy NBA twitter fan would like Lue more as a head coach prospect if he had never been a Head Coach than they do in this reality where he was one.....and won the fricking championship!!!

In a world in which Lue was just an assistant in Cleveland and a few other places, he would be all the rage amongst smart, hip NBA fan twitter. But he already was an NBA HC, so its not the super chic, cool, high upside hire. The unknown. All the shite those guys love so much

Yeah I saw.

It’s a valid point but it’s also part of it that we’ve seen Lue as a HC so we know what he is.

And he’s “fine”.

Would you be happy with Finch? It would be pretty similar to Toronto hiring Nurse

If the report of Griffin wanting to fire Gentry mid season is true but he didn't because nobody he wanted (Lue) was available, that says to me they don't see Finch as a guy they want as head coach.

I don't think they do either, but I'm trying to see how he's going to gauge a home run hire. Nurse is at worst a top-5 coach in the league, probably number 2 or 3, and if we did something similar (hiring Finch), our fans would prob melt.

Fans look at coaches like draft picks. Potential > Proven. As long as you have enough positives like where you worked or what you were given credit for, without many negatives, fans will assume the best.

I guess we can’t know what a home run hire is for a few years.

I knew Gentry was a bum from second 1 because he has a LONG record of being a bum.

That won’t be the case here. We won’t know.

We will have opinions. But none of us will know this time around.
