NAW had a much better night. The talent is there.

I like how we're looking in these scrims, but kinda sucks we've played against 2 teams that are not in any way representative of the average bubble team.

Nets are a G league squad and the Nugs are literally playing just forwards and Centers.

But no injuries is always worth celebrating after exhibition games.

NAW penetrates really well. That and defense is enough to build on. They may need to scale back his role until he’s better.

It could be fools gold, but what you want to see from your team is knock down shots, play within the system, pass the ball, play defense.

They are doing all those things, and they are beating teams they should. Our depth is outplaying their’s. Drastically.

It could be bs but I love what I’ve seen so far.

Well, that's the thing: NAW has been a big defensive liability so far this season. I thought he played a very sound defensive game in the first scrimmage, with 2 blocks and a steal. I didn't get to watch the game tonight, but I see that he had another 2 blocks and 2 steals, so I'm going to assume that he had a solid defensive game.

NAW couldn't play quality defense back in January. If he can now, then he deserves playing time in games that count.

Anyone else think JJ looks a lot more fluid out there? I remember hearing he’s back down to his Duke weight, and he just looks like he’s moving a little better.

He played well. In control more, had some real nice penetration and passes, shot fairly well.

I thought he looked better. A lot less complacent

Was really hoping he bounced back from that atrocious performance in the first scrimmage and the box story never really tells the full story.

His play in the first game wasn't atrocious at all. It certainly wasn't a performance to be proud of, but NAW played good defense and played well offensively after making a few early mistakes. I would describe it as mediocre.

I wish that I could've watched yesterday, because I really want to see more of NAW's defense, as it appears that he's really progressed (which is normal for a rookie).

During the regular season, NAW had a defensive box + - of negative 1.4, which was definitely worse than E'Twaun's -1.0, but not as bad as Frank's -2.0. (JJ Redick is -1.6.)

If NAW can go from being a defensive liability to being an asset on the defensive side of the floor, then the occasional dumb turnovers aren't reason enough to keep him off the floor.
