I feel BI and Zion will need some time to figure out how to mesh their games (I think that will come) but Zo and Zion seem to be a match made in heaven.

Those first few possessions with Ingram and zion looked very fluid and promising

It’s been so obvious how much Zo wants to get the ball to Zion, sometimes to a fault, but it’s a great sign for their chemistry and the future.

Zo passing seems really tight as the season progresses

Yeah they have both continued to improve their on court chemistry so I really just think it is a matter of time.

Both players have a team-first, ego-controlled mentality as well, which is often the biggest barrier to getting high caliber players to mesh.

Zo has really settled in recently. I think it will be really good for Zion to grow with guys who were eaten up by THE big market, only to come here and thrive.

He’s also shooting 37% from 3. Where are those clowns that said he couldn’t shoot and he wasn’t going to improve his 3pt shooting?

I was totally skeptical...he’s definitely improving. Vinson is underpaid...

The way Lonzo has navigated the distractions of his father is impressive to me. Seems he’s gotten through it still standing, and Lavar has disappeared without the lights of LA feeding his ego. And when he was asked about his dad all he said was that he loved him, he didn’t get pulled into controversy. Strong kid at such a young age.

I mean, nothing indicated he would, so that wasn't an absurd take. Apparently either the Lakers coaches are pitiful at developing players or Vinson really is a master at his craft. Probably both. Zo would probably be shooting over 40% if not for some of those bad stepbacks he was taking early this year.

38% since the new year
42% in February

Almost like a 22 y/o is allowed to improve. Crazy what a healthy offseason can do for one’s game

His shot selection was atrocious and it's still not all there yet. He took some goofy 3s during the OKC game before the ASB.

With that being said the proverbial light switch has come on for him. I'm infinitely more pleased with Lonzo now than I was a couple of months ago.

Most of his turnovers come on homerun passes, and he is hitting more of those than he's missing on. The threat of it also helps us on defensive rebounds, because two guys are usually having to run back on defense to watch Zion score.

Yeah, it’s impressive relative to where he has come from, but as a whole, he is still an average shooter with, at times, questionable shot selection.

Right now he really shouldn’t be taking contested off dribble threes at all, let alone the step backs. Where he is hitting at below average rates down to bad. Open catch and shoot threes and open off dribble shots he has improved to a pretty respectable 39%. You now want him taking those shots pretty much every time. Which is a really good improvement.

He’s not quite there, but if he can become a good enough shooter that he is committing two defenders off screens or really forcing defenses to commit to closing out on him, that is when he will become that much more deadly with someone like Zion down low imo.

And the good news is that he is trending in that direction better than anyone could have predicted and seems to have the drive and open-mindedness with Vinson to allow himself to be reformed and molded. Something most players resist or struggle with committing to.

I was incredibly skeptical after the trade of Lonzo’s future here as a player, or his personal maturity to accept a non-glamour market. Neither of those things are in question for me anymore. I hope he stays a Pel.

Nothing encapsulates the Zion era as much as this.

The next decade is going to be fun as hell for Pels fans.

It’s amazing how under the radar nationally Lonzo’s improvement has been. Dude is growing into his draft spot.

Right? His college 3pt shooting, plus his improvement from year 1 to year 2 didn’t show that he was or could be a better 3pt shooter...
