Is it behind the train tracks at the end of the road or on the old soccer fieldS facing airline?

Its where the road bends right there (on the "inside" of the bend, directly opposite the Saints facility, directly behind the wooded area right there next to Zephyrs Field.

There are obviously things you can do to condense the spot:

yeah, exactly. plenty of room for a beautiful facility...at least something better than what they currently have.

Since "Hornets" won't be around anymore, instead of "Get Buzzin", the new slogan should be "Get fappin".

It's basketball so the court is relatively small and your facilities are all indoors and can be spread out on multiple floors. Assuming those are 5 yard marks on the football field, this is roughly how much room would be needed for just the basketball court.

Plenty of room for all the facility the Hornets need if they build a multifloor building.

Cool. Yea that is where I thought. I think it's plenty enough room. It's not like you need a huge parking lot. Prob 3-4 courts, weight room, training room, and showers. Like you said build it up if need be

No. Click the link.

Yes... He was exactly right.

And I called this location last week when the practice facility was first mentioned.

Yeah, they wouldn't be moving the "whole operation" there (ie Sales team, etc), just the team, trainers, and I guess guys like Demps, Weber, and all basketball ops people.

It really could be a beautiful thing. 2-3 indoor courts maybe, a state of the art video room, a large lounge for the players, a brand new training room/complex, cafeteria, meeting rooms, a NICE media room.

They can catch baseball games, they can hang out with Saints players, they are super close to the airport.

And Sugar Bowl Courts is nearby, which is nice.

I wonder if Benson will try to invest in the area around there to "clean it up" a bit. Maybe a nicer hotel, restaurants (well, chain restaurants), etc.

A buddy of mine is in the advertising department for the Hornets and word is Benson has been in the offices everyday and already has his office set up. He, Demps, and someone from Marketing have been on the phones non stop. Benson has said multiple times that he wants a new practice facility sooner than expected. My buddy didnt say anything about it being on Airline but I Hope it is true. Benson owns all of the land that covers Saints facility and Zephyr field.

Jimmy Graham can go to church, practice with saints, shoot some hoops, catch a baseball game and run on the soccer field shirtless all within a few hundred yards.

Hope your buddy doesn't get canned.

Word from inside the Hornet's offices say Benson is going to combine Saints/Hornets staff and many Hornet employees will get the ax.

Benson straight up said they would be run as two separate entities. I have to assume, at least for the time being, that that includes sales staff, etc.

I'm sure there will be SOME combining of forces, but I expect them to be pretty independent.

I know 4 people who work for the Hornets, 2 of them are pretty high up. I interned there for the 2009 season. Just going by what they told me Saturday. A few people have already put in their notice effective upon the end of the season.

Of course Benson isn't going to come out and say, "Hey I just bought the Hornets! Time to fire half of the staff!" Not sure that would be a good idea.

How will Loomis' suspension go? Is he going to be on communication lockdown like Payton? Benson's already said he plans to have Loomis help oversee the Hornets, and the NFL obviously can't prevent Loomis from working for them. It seems like Loomis and Benson would be unable to avoid each other during his suspension.

Yeah that may seem more appropriate for the Saints board, but if it's a legit penalty loophole maybe it helps fast track the facility.
