Maybe we didn't contact them. Houston is trying to create a false market.

Marc Stein seems to get a lot of info on us. Probably more than anybody else in the media, local or national.
That, "Have it on strong authority" part of that tweet seems like its basically his way of telling people, "trust me". Folks im getting this directly from Dell or somebody really high in the organization

I think people are overrating our scoring options a bit. And the money we have left, our options would be very limited.
If you are talking about last year's roster, sure.
But this year's roster has 3 guys that can get to the bucket, plus the improving skills of Davis.
Ryno's shooting is nice, and he'd surely benefit from playing with a nice set of guys that can get to the bucket and find the open man, but that's also a skill that a large number of guys, who are cheaper, also possess.

The Rockets wouldn't trade Parsons for anyone on the Pelicans roster short of Davis.
Yet, they are about to make a sign and trade for Howards booty buddy Josh Smith.

i am glad this deal won't happen

Doesn't really make sense why he wouldn't be interested in Asik at all though. If we know he's on the block I'd expect Dell to at least call to see what they want for him. I'm not sure I believe that we have no interest in him or wouldn't even contact them at all.
I'm sure he was interested. Like someone said, where there's smoke there's fire. It's possible that bad info or intentionally false info was leaked but it's much more likely that a discussion was had at some point.

Guy that works for the rockets that's next to me disagrees. So there's that Matt.

And?
They are open to making any move now that they have Howard.

Yes, but that SnT won't include Parsons

Actually it's much more likely the Rockets made up the story to raise Asik's value considering they'll be forced to deal him if they land Howard.
Posted on 7/6/13 at 12:55 am to Joe Mantegna
Any move that involves Asik and not Parsons.

I'm guessing Smith would play PF.

Possible as well. We'll never know though so it's time to move on. Dealin' Demps the Ninja GM has to have a few tricks left this offseason. Let's sit back and watch.

Which is why I don't think it makes sense that Stein would be so adamant that there was no contact at all. Something seems off

We'll see...I am hoping Dwight pulls a Joffrey and tries to get rid of everyone.

Yes, Smith would play the 4 in Houston and be an overpaid defensive stopper. But should be fun in the open court. Unless Smith learns to not jack up contested shots and learns how to shoot a FT, I'm against acquiring Smith.

That's Stein helping out the Pels front office. They don't want Anderson to think he was on the block. That makes for a disgruntled employee. They can now tell him that the whole thing was B.S. Its good business. The media can be helpful too if you manipulate them properly.
