He's an efficient 14 and 9 at 20 years old.

I’m not sure what you’re looking for, but he’s not meh. Unless you were expecting him to be a franchise player.

He would be second on our team in rebounding rate and first in defensive rating
So all he does at 20 is 3 & D, rebound and block shots
Oh and he’s 2-0 vs us on 16 & 9, 67% TS and 56% from 3P while clamping whoever is in front of him

I'm not ready to crown a team that overpaid a starting to look washed fvv and Dillon fricking Brooks. They have nice pieces and a good coach, but the ceiling for this season is very low considering their lack of depth and true playmaking.

Anybody who can rebound would be second on our team- we have piss poor rebounders outside of JV. This isn’t a big deal.

Lol I dont but ok. The guy was picked third overall and basically looks like a solid role player. I get hes young but there are guys drafted after him that have tons more potential.
I just think its funny how we salivate over guys on other teams.
Just think about guys drafted around Jabari- Paolo, Chet, Shaedon, Mathurin and Keegan. I would take every one of them over Jabari and all of them to me have tons more potential offensively than Jabari. So yes, I don’t think Jabari is or will be anything special.

I think thats more on coaching specifically Willie than on Trey. Jabari is getting that opportunity but Trey isn’t. You have to admit a lot of what you stated is on Willie not on Trey? I mean we don’t even try getting him the ball.

Having any solid rebounder would help. I don’t disagree with this.
I’ve never made this a Trey v Jabari thing. I think you’re on this argument you can’t rave about Trey and talk down about Jabari- I disagree. One I am not talking down about Jabari- Im just not sold on Jabari being this elite player. Jabari is a top 3 pick and Trey was a mid first non-lottery pick- completely different expectations for each. Trey is also a wing and Jabari is more of a 4.
But answering your question, it doesn’t really matter if Jabari does more at 20 than Trey does at 21 because I believe Jabari ceiling is very limited- I always thought this even when he was at Auburn. What hes doing now is what he’ll be doing 5 years from now- and frankly to be a solid role player as a top 3 pick with all the other guys picked before/after him is kind of disappointing.

I think I have a better feel of the pulse of this Rockets team and players than you do, and will add to the discussion my perspective. I said before the season on this forum that this Rockets team would be fighting for a bottom playoff spot. Many here, not being as familiar with the team, said no way, and that they would be one of the worst teams in the league. I had a clearer perspective because I follow the team. And I provide my perspective whether it’s on the MSB or Pels Talk.
So when I come across a post saying Jabari blows, when I know that’s not true, I’m going to push back on that.

I agree. There are two major reasons why we haven’t taken off as expected and thats coaching and injuries.
The injury bug has finally turned in our favor(knock on wood) and now Willie’s incompetence is showing.
That being said credit where its due, they hired Udoka as a head coach when other teams didn’t want to touch him because of his issues. He has turned that team around.
